Home v Bradford City
Re: Home v Bradford City
Have to feel really sorry for the Bradford fans who have travelled over. I suppose questions will be asked about why the club didn't foresee or suspect this decision.
Re: Home v Bradford City
Suspect it's the same referee as last season vs Salford who called it off when playable, EFL really need to sort their officials out, 1 hour before kick off is an absolute joke.

8 of the last 12, not 9.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 2:14 pm Assuming that we do not play again before next Saturday that will mean that 9 out of our last 12 games will be played at home. I’m not sure that has ever happened before.
If I were PW I’d move training from FC United to Marine for the rest of the season to get used to playing on a ploughed field.

Re: Home v Bradford City
You’re having a laugh Jim there’s more comes out of North Korea than our club. Surely there must have been some doubt but not an inkling from the club. Apologies to Bradford fans.
Re: Home v Bradford City
Many Bradford City fans are gobsmacked at the decision by the officials. Especially after their game went ahead midweek.
Always sympathetic to supporters who have parted with their hard earned only to be bamboozled by ludicrous decisions even more so when it’s been before a ball has been kicked.
If only we had this ref at Salford last week

CH BAFC I agree with you what a ridiculous decision. The world and the football world is going nuts. The referee today needs to take a serious look at himself, you today made a big mistake in my opinion. Are you really looking at a Wembley surface before a game can take place? Get a grip man/woman/non gender/woke (all other orientations allowed). How did the world ever rotate!

Re: Home v Bradford City
GRAHAM Alexander admitted the first he knew about a possible postponement at Barrow was when he got to the ground.
The City team coach drove into the Holker Street car park just as referee Tom Niel was expressing his concerns about an area of the goal mouth.
The match was officially called off just over an hour before kick-off,.
“We just walked in through the gate and then I got asked to walk onto the pitch,” said the Bantams boss. That was the first I heard.
“We came here prepared to play a game of football. The corner of the pitch which the referee is talking about is in bad condition but the rest of it’s fine.
“He’s taken advice off the people at the league and the decision is the decision.
“We were fully prepared. We travelled over yesterday but these things happen.
“We don’t go through all that preparation not to play but I can also understand the referee’s decision.
“It’s only a really small part of the pitch but it’s in the goal area where you hope a lot of the action will be.
“It’s disappointing for everybody, Barrow, ourselves and the supporters. But I can also sympathise with the ref’s decision.
“I don’t think for one minute that the ref came here with the intention of calling the game off.
“When you’ve got responsibility, sometimes you have to make decisions that aren’t particularly popular

Those were the days (Leeds v Man U). Looks like Billy Bremner (of course) having a go at Dennis Law. ref just letting them get on with it!

Fact is we deserve a better pitch . Really disappointing as one of the biggest games and gates of the season and the club will miss out. Family here from Scotland to watch it .

Re: Home v Bradford City
The referee who last season called Barrow v Salford off Sam Barrott is this season on the elite list refereeing Premier league games!!!! After days debacle expect todays ref Tom Nield to be elevated to premier league !!!!
