Well said Adam.People can,t complain if they don,t contribute.Adam29 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 6:05 pmBut if people aren’t going to get involved what is there to react to?Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:49 pm You can’t base your whole post most reaction on listeners texts. We want a fair slice of that cake please
It will just be me and Jase repeating ourselves over and over again, talking about the same things as we have spoke about already over the course of 90mins
The whole point of a post match debate is to have debate - not just us saying things we have already said
I’m bored now of trying - I come on here - I give people the opportunity but apart from the usual people who do get involved it falls on deaf ears
The opportunity is there every week to get involved in the show. If people choose not to (which is there choice) then don’t at the same time moan that we have little reaction

Fair enough - but I don't ever remember a Carlisle discussion being cut off in mid flow to go over to a live interview with the Barrow manager and then the Paul Simpson interview coming on half an hour later.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 8:54 am
The reason you had to sit through Simpson then Workington and Penrith was that during Simpsons interview Stephen Clemence came to Adam for his interview. That resulted in Adam having to record his interview with Clemence then upload it into Radio Cumbria so they could then play it. They couldn't play it until they had it and the time Adams interview took and him getting it to Radio Cumbria was used to do interviews with both Workington and Penrith bosses. It also allowed both Adam and Jason to discuss Clemences thoughts as all other match interview IE Penrith and Workington had been completed.

Apart from yesterday I don’t recall it being done for a Barrow discussion either. I don’t think any of us know the nuisances of what being an editor of a live sports programme involves. I wouldn’t like to do it hats off to them that do.

Posts about the match outnumbered by technophobes twiddling dials on their toaster trying to get Ron Duxbury and yet another re-run of the Radio Cumbria debate.
What a thread, what a forum.
Three points and a clean sheet - lovely stuff. Onto the next one.

Re: Barrow AFC v Crewe Alexandra FC (H)
Crewe looked a hard-working well organised side, as we did, but we beat them. Mahoney and Newby starved of the ball imo throughout which the coach will have to address. At the back and in midfield we look a match for anyone, up front we don't. We need another striker in asap. The whole radio Cumbria debate needs putting to bed. As stated previously Carlisle must have a lot of stay-at-home supporters to be texting in straight after the refs blown for full-time. The Carlisle-biased presenters, to put it politely, aren't very professional whilst Simpson doesn't exactly help matters with his regular moronic take on how unlucky they were to get absolutely annihilated. Let's hope we're all listening in to him droning on about yet another unlucky hammering next Saturday on our way back home!

You would think a transtoaster radio would be an acceptable norm these days. But happy to toast the winLancaster Branch wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 10:57 am Posts about the match outnumbered by technophobes twiddling dials on their toaster trying to get Ron Duxbury and yet another re-run of the Radio Cumbria debate.

Very happy with the defence and midfield. We already know that Farman, Canavan, Spence and Campbell are good players and Vassell and Jackson look great additions on first view. Unfortunately, we will struggle to score goals. Mahoney looks to have the ability to beat defenders and Newby also has some ability but our strike force is very poor. I see Acquah is getting plenty of criticism but, IMO, he is our only striker who gives opposing defences even a slight concern as Garner and Telford are not good enough and on first impression Dallas looks as bad as those 2.
Re: Barrow AFC v Crewe Alexandra FC (H)
Not sure Acquah troubled crewe defence that much. Don't know how you've come to the conclusion Telford ain't good enough his track record proves that he is. Telford has to start for me our best striker by a distance.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 12:15 pm Very happy with the defence and midfield. The whole ‘Barrow fans don’t get in touch therefore they get less coverage’ argument is utter tosh. Okay, post-match, maybe there’d be a more equal split if Barrow fans were to text in (although do we really think this’d be the case?) but the pre-match show is significant weighted towards the other League 2 club too and that doesn’t rely on fan messages. Also, agree that all the pally references to ‘Simmo’ are deeply annoying, and border on the unprofessional; we don’t hear Adam talking about ‘Clemo’ or ‘Wildy’ do we?! Agree re. the patronising ‘Carlisle basically won, despite the result’ nonsense too. It won’t get fixed as they’re Carlisle based; worked for RC years back and it’s always been this way. For those of us living out of area, Adam’s comms and input are very much appreciated but the rest of the programme really does feel the Carlisle roadshow.

From 30mins before kick off we split feeds to bring a full 30min build up to our commentary games
The only reason people listening via the clubs website didn’t get that was simply because the club requested to the EFL for the stream to start 10min before kick off
I have been in touch with the EFL and that has now been changed meaning our website broadcast will start 30mins before kick off thus everyone be it radio or club website will get full 30min build up

We have our own 30 minute build up now starting at 2:30 on dedicated frequencies as do Carlisle so your point about pre match does not stand this seasonstandishbluebird wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 12:54 pm The whole ‘Barrow fans don’t get in touch therefore they get less coverage’ argument is utter tosh. Most of the Barrow fan base are on their way home from the game where Carlisle have lots more armchair fans that text in. As for the game thought we did well getting the three points against a side that will be up there in May.

That is not a bad idea, but it would require the services of a volunteer roving reporter connected to Adam.It was done on Dave Day so it is possible to do it.Whether or not Radio Cumbria would allow it to happen is another thing entirely. You would probably have to have a designated pub which most of the supporters go to after the match.BarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 9:48 am Good win. I thought we were solid and didn’t look like conceding. Not sure we ever looked like scoring the second either. 3 points does the job though.
Lots of good after match discussions in the local pubs I was in. Maybe the post match show should be hosted from the ambrose or soccer bar if you want interaction??
