Dave,I have supported Barrow since the mid 70s,this was a time of great hardship for the club due to our relegation from the football league.As would happen at any club after such a major blow many people gave up on the club,I along with several hundred others stuck around and have been on the roller coaster which is Barrow soccer ever since.
During your time at Barrow you have enjoyed success,though now we find our club/team in probably our worst position since those dark days way back.I know you love the club and want us to be successfull,but our team, YOUR team is the worst we have seen at holker st in decades.The good core fan group you have help build when we have been successfull is diminishing rapidly,people are staying away because the football is dire and because many cannot support you anymore,infact I now find myself questioning wether I can be botherd to pay money to watch such rubbish,something I have never done,You are undoing all the good work you did in your earlier years as manager.So Dave,If you do love Barrow AFC as you have said on many occasions, then please resign,swallow your pride and move on,WE the supporters/ club need a CHANGE.

Jo, who is going to walk away from a job now days. This is the guys living this is what pays the bills! I can't blame him for not walking but agree he has to go, someone has to make the decision for him!!

I think that first post is spot on. But it's the BOD who need to realise this isn't just this forum!

We are clearly thought of as ill informed troublemakers.

Look at the facts- Games won and lost in the last year- crowds- sales of merchandise- bar takings, things like that. Look at them, please!

I regularly read the posts on here and felt it was time I added my thoughts on this.
Over the last 3/4 years I have taken my son (now 11 years old) to around 8/9 home games on average. Like a lot of kids his age he intially supported Man Utd as most kids in his class did and had Man Utd shirts. Slowly but surely he started to appreciate his local team and to my delight a couple of christmas's ago he wanted a Barrow top rather than a Man U top.
The problem now is that not only is it hard for him to stay enthusiastic for a team that gets relegated and then plays pretty dire football in an even lower league; the main problem is that he (and me) find it hard to feel as attached and bonded to a 'team' whose names keeps on changing due to constant in and out loan signings.
It's got to the stage where part of us , if we are being honest, almost want Barrow to lose just to accelerate ther departure of the manager.
I agree with Barrow Aberdeen- Dave Bayliss will have to be relieved of his job by the board as I just can't see him choosing to quit.
I do genuinly wonder what hold he has on the board- they must be reasonably intelligent people who I would like to believe love the club so what on earth is stopping them from making the right decision? How many more defeats will it take?
In all my conversations I have at work or socially not one person wants the manager to stay any longer- it most certainly isn't just this forum that feels this way.

Dave - If you do read this , 3 of my under 10s didn't get much game time today and with recent weather we've only played once in three weeks , so PM me and I will send them to you next match day (don't bother inviting them to training , I've seen what you offer and don't want them to pick up any bad habits)

Only joking Dave ! What I really meant was if you don't mind please [SwearFilter] off as we have a football club to try and save

Great post Jo. I have supported Barrow since I was 7. 1970-71 Season and supported the club through many dark days. Now it appears we are back in them. Please Mr Keen do something before we have no fans. :flag:

all the posts are spot on,the trouble we have is that i think the board know the answer but do not have the confidence to make the decision.

also i personally think after looking at the way they have let this charade continue ,have they got the ability to choose a successer?


because let`s be honest he should have gone at the end of last season it`s time for"the loan arranger" to get on his horse and ride out of town!

I think the attendance at the next home game will tell us everything we need to know.

It won't make a jot of difference to the board however as it seems they are now digging in their heels.

don`t forget meechan said judge us after 10 games the board got us in debt which then means budgets cuts which means an inferior team i admire your devotion but where`s the light at the end of the tunnel?

The real danger is that light is from a runaway train to further relegation and oblivion ... so it's time to put the brake on and change the driver!!

The board won't get rid,imo they are just waiting for someone they owe money to to wind us up, everything sold, they will get their money back and jobs a good un for them. The board won't care how many fans stay away.

I believe the sad reality is that we really are stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place.

DB can't afford to quit as this job is very likely his only source of income (and if he quits he probably wont be entitled to any benefits), and the BOD can't afford to terminate his contract because that would presumably cost more money (which we obviously don't have).

I can't see a way out of this, unless there's some performance related clauses in his contract??? I doubt there are but surely the BOD can give us some indication of this, even if they don't spell out the actual criteria of the clauses.

The alternative is that he stays until his contract ends, at which point, we're likely to be playing in the EvoStik!!

Have to agree with you Bluey, its like a really bad case of the sh its, you just have to sit on the toilet till it is over and hope that the whole world hasnt fallen out of your ass in the meantime............
