If you were Edmo how many changes would you make for Saturday's FA Cup tie ?
Presuming anyone not getting a regular start will get a run out or do you feel it's best to stick with the usual ( whatever that appears to be for us ) starting eleven.

Taylor
Burns (Willis if Burns not over knock)
Williams
Livesey
McWilliams
Reid
ARH
Cowperthwaite
Pilkington
Walker
Cook?
A little tinkering, you try telling Cook he is being rested at the minute!!! Also give Cowps that run in centre midfield

Loads.
McWilliams and Willis need games, one of Grand/Livesey with Williams
Play ARH and Cowps in the middle, Pilks and Cribley wings
Start with Cooky and let Alex Newby buzz around him.

I would rest as many of the "big names" as possible and go 3-5-2
Taylor
Livesey Williams Cowps
Reid Crowther Lacey Harvey Pilka
Walker Ellison
Still a lot of the ones you would associate with being a starter but a chance for some to get some game time, others to have a rest and in Walkers case hopefully the chance to bag a goal or two and boost his confidence.

Name your strongest team! It's the FA Cup for the sake of pete! I know we aren't reliant financially on a good cup run but why risk slipping up by making wholesale changes?
For me, name your strongest team. Get the game won and make changes at half time or on the hour mark.

Because we have an abundance of players of which we should be able to select 11 of them capable of beating Runcorn Town whilst not completely jeopardising the teams chances of promotion. Getting out of VN as soon as possible is far more important than getting knocked out by Notts County in FACR2.

Taylor definitely needs a start between the sticks. It's a good game to see what he's like. I think the squads good enough to beat Runcorn whoever plays.

Why should playing in the FA CUP jeopardise our league progress? It's a great competition, where we can make a name for ourselves and give our fans a bonus playing against league teams. I personally would love another day out at a premier league ground. However, as you have stated we should have enough cover in our decent squad to continue our league push.
There are enough 'big' teams devaluing the cup comps and we certainly aren't big enough do be this arrogant!
FA cup 3rd round v Liverpool, FA Trophy winners at Wembley and promotion will do me nicely!

We would all love another day out at a Premier league team but what if we were to play Cook on Saturday just for him to get clattered and injured for a long time? We can play a side strong enough to beat Runcorn without coming off as disrespectful whilst maintaining our key players for the league. If someone offered me a straight up choice of either a third round awayer at a Premier league side or promotion I would take promotion every single time.

Three players who must start on Saturday for me (unless injured or other reasons) are Taylor, McWilliams & Williams. Selecting these three is not going to weaken our team, they have however patiently waited for their chance & this should be it.
We know what Williams is about (which is a big improvement from this time last year) but we have no idea first hand what the other two can do. Start McWilliams & move Cowps into midfield.
I would also be tempted to give Cooky a rest for this one & put him on the bench, nothing to do with his game but more to do with giving Jase a chance to get scoring & Ellison a good run out.
TBH whatever team we put out it really should be enough to win this comfortably.

It's all IFS and buts and promotion is the key. However, that doesn't mean we have to 'rest' players for the cup. You're just as likely to get injured in training as against Runcorn. I reckon our key players are MCMILLAN, GRAND, LIVESY, BURNS, PILKS, REID, ARH AND COOK- are we going to rest them all? On the other hand, you can imagine the reaction of some fans if one of our key men did sustain a long term injury in the cup. As stated earlier, we do have a decent squad so maybe some of them might take their chance and hold on to it. Who knows.

I'm not suggesting we rest them all as thats implausible but we certainly should take the opportunity to rest some. Yes - they always run a risk of getting injured in training, league games etc but if we can remove a bit of that risk by taking them out of the cup game then we should do, IMO.
