Very competitive game. Gomis is a boss in the middle. Seeing some cohesion with this group. Encouraging

Bennett listed on the bench but in his flip flops and no kit on his he resting, injured, turned up late or as a revised bid been put in not allowing him to play?

I was impressed with the work rate and some of the link up play. Think our midfield is looking strong and Gomis will be amongst our key players next season.

Heard then impressive number 4 nieskinns has signed.

Moore - great save in first half, poor communication with moussa second
Trialist right back - got up and down well but doesn't run past a man
Moussa - had a good run forward and looks more comfortable on the ball that last season
Trialist centre half - looks slow but can read the game well, bit like livesey?
Jimmy dunne - very comfortable on the ball and can produce a few tricks for a centre back!
Dan Jones - put a few decent crosses into the box, the throw ins are huge
Gomis - looks a great signing
Hall - reluctant to shoot at times, put a good ball into the box for the goal
Harvey - can't remember anything of note
White - battled well won headers
Harry - has quite a bit of strength for his height but not much attacking instinct

In most interviews Cox gives he's rightly asked about potential signings and upping the squad numbers. His replies begin with "In my opinion" which suggests that Casson has a different opinion.

I'm feeling more and more that Cox has his hands tied and Casson isn't releasing the funds to bring many more in. We'll end up with a squad full of loanees again.

I'm sensing a tough campaign ahead.

Or maybe one of the Casson in there expert opinions doesn't agree some players are good enough.

Whoever he was I thought he was terrific to be honest, one of the most impressive trialist displays I've seen for a long time. Dominated his aerial duels, distributed the ball well when required and was very vocal throughout, constantly communicating with his team-mates and keeping the defence in line. Seems an ideal Livesey replacement to be me, it'll just be interesting to see if Cox persists with three at the back as I didn't think Diarra looked very comfortable in the wide left position in the three, much more suited to playing centrally.

The number 4 was impressive. Would like to know his full name and have official confirmation of a signing.

His name is Dave Nieskins.
