New ground / renevation costs

I was having a debate with an old friend about Holker Street and how it should be improved etc. (Stuff that has been done to death on here). We got onto the cost involved in a full rebuild at HS and our figures differed dramatically, I estimated <£10mil whereas they put it closer to £40mil
I was wondering if anyone knew the costs involved in in renovating a stadium - is there any benchmark figures to do this?
Also, if the club were to build a new ground where could they do this in barrow - and how much would this land cost?
Appreciate this is a bit pie in the sky but I thought one of the more knowledgeable members of the forum might help me satisfy my curiosity.

Would depend how much you sold the current land for/how much new land cost

Other local councils (forward thinking councils) give land away with the view for it being developed and improving the lot of the local community.

Holier Street could easily be redeveloped for under 10 million quid

Think a new 'community' stadium could be built on the docks area and shared with the RL, as the costs could be bought down by the various grants available although he bulk would have to come from the clubs I think they council would be supportive as it would kick start the redevelopment.
Unfortunatly this is mere pie in the sky at the moment and their is simply no will for such a major project at the club. All I no is if we did get promoted to the FL we would have the worst ground and the poorest infrastructure of any team, not a good label we have along way to go and we may never get there

Groundshare is always a good debate. However our council can't even get the weeds/bins/roads sorted....A community stadium is beyond them.
Redevelopment of HS for me. Would we like the rugby on that carpet Gareth has managed to produce? Not for me.
On a side note, we started to use Gareth's pitch yesterday....Great to see some football on it.....

This. Many examples around the country of this resulting in the local community benefitting over time with job creation etc.
