Time to smash tradition

Ever since I was in short pants the default setting on Barrow AFC has been get a good result against a promotion chasing team then follow it up with an abysmal display/thumping by a team at the other end of the table. That scenario hits us again tomorrow with a Maidstone team who haven't won a League game since mid -December but have made several loan signings in the past week including striker Ross Lafayette from Sutton and former Bluebirds central defender Will De Haviland. So if we are to progress tomorrow we have to go 'against the grain'.

Don’t remember him, when did he play for us?

He had a couple of games under Edmo in pre-season - not sure that really counts as "former Bluebird"

Sorry, meant to say pre-season trialist. Think he chose Wycombe over us.
Perhaps this will jog memories.

I’m hopeful of a good win here, think a result is brewing, lots of down time to cement the newbies into our patterns etc, Uplifting showing last time out, Start with tempo & determination, get a bit of luck on the way & we win this one 1-2

My main worry is whose going to get the goals?

Well if Whites getting stuck on the wing we’ll need at least one more striker. Can’t just have Holt and James till the end of the season

Hope we manage to start scoring as soon, Holty is overdue a goal, In your or anyone’s opinion does he look like he’s getting any fitter? Hope him & James are a good foil for each other with White chipping in also, fingers crossed.

Who knows Henneys Knee. Been informed from a reliable source that James alabi was all but signed in Jan. Directly knocked back by the managing director because there was to many quality front men in the squad at the time.

Ive heard this one too.
Not many decent front men about this time of year - unless we take a punt on a lower league one which could be the way to go. Anyone decent would involve a fee and we are seemingly cutting costs not investing. Our loans must be maxed out now aswell? Anyone know how many u can have

I couldn't comment on Tuesday because I couldn't make it (previous commitment! ) but he looked overweight and slow last time I saw him play!

Is that the same person backing up his own rumours above? A suspicious influx of in-the-knowers recently...
Alabi was signing for Ebbsfleet anyway. Not us.

Where did you sign Overdue and Shirley? They sound like classic underachievers. Maidstone always slump around Christmas; last season several loan signings saw us start a run of epically brilliant form. Just need one win to kick start the confidence. Will today be the day?
