So, we are going to bring in more local players according to Pennock; a very interesting development is this.

If you wanted more proof of going backwards / scaling down / lack of investment this would be it. I’ve thought for some time that his might be the long term future for us but didn’t want to say as much on here. I predicted last year that the Trust would be running the club within five years and have seen nothing to make me change my mind – quite the contrary.
As well as a team with several locals in I also think we might be sharing Craven Park with our sporting brothers as the owner tries to re-coup cash by selling the FBSS plot. Alternatively, someone with real money and intent might come forward in the interim. Dull it aint.

That's one way of reading the article, I suppose. It wouldn't be mine.

Despite the fact that Nathan looked decent when he came on vs. top of the league on Saturday...
But just forget that, let's use this to have a go at the club again.
Bore off!

I think the penny is dropping with alot of people.
The guys had his time in the limelight ,TV, National Papers,Local Radio.
Last year he failed to invest to get us promotion in January ,this January he has failed to invest to push us away from the relegation zone which I think he wants us to fall through the league's so he can get rid of Holker Street.
I honestly believe you would run a reserve team to bring locals through but we have been promised this for years but it's never happened
Paul Ogden could have assisted as you are all aware he was promoted to the vital role ,what happened to him.
Casson is reducing costs as much as possible
He is a businessman and this Project is over.
You can have as many meet the Owner as you like or now Junior, promise a new stadium,a team to get us into the league,, a commercial set up etc.
But really of any of the aims he set has he achieved?

I am not questioning this lad's talent or anyone else's; the subject matter is what is going on at Barrow AFC and in what direction the club is heading. Do you have any comment on that subject?

You could get a job with the Evening mail with this sort of sensationalism.
Might have to throw in a few spelling mistakes though.

Yes,
The article said that they hope to bring a few locals through to the first team squad by sorting out the youth set up not that they are replacing Gomis with Andy Hill.

Yes but unlike Casson and some of his cronies on here I am consistent.
When does he make a appearance,he keeps a low profile.
I realise we cannot do anything but I am not keeping quiet while he runs the club down.
I realize like Shylock he is now looking for his pound of flesh.
So you keep quiet sit and watch

Mine either- it's just general midweek EM mince. Manager mentions new signing, few platitudes, local journalist stretches into story. He talked about getting more local players at the Q and A. Cox talked about it too. Edmo talked about it too. Most of us have talked about it too, indeed Bayles and back into time did too. The operative word is talk.
Given that how it can seen as signs of a strategic withdrawal are beyond me.
I do think we are gambling too much on sorting this mess out in the summer.

Good to see that we're getting our End of Season debate in early.
What will we have to talk about in June? I'm not sure whether the tone will be more poisonous if we actually stay up. Feels increasingly less like a genuine football forum and more of political debating society.
