Boreham Wood (A) 30/3/18
The segregation bit I get, but the non admittance in the bar?? Got to be the most unwelcoming club in the league.

Re: Boreham Wood (A) 30/3/18
The annoying thing is, the pubs in Elstree / Boreham Wood are absolute garbage. There's a Wetherspoons which is crap, and one other which is even worse.
The one possible exception is the Queen Vic at Elstree Studios, which is only open to actors, or to members of the Eastenders cast.
It is, as Middleton Nick says, Boreham Stiff FC's loss, and they are by far the most unwelcoming club in the league. I hate going there, even though it's an easy game for me to get there.
I hope we stuff them.

I am travelling to this one. I must be mad.
Re: Boreham Wood (A) 30/3/18
To be fair to them it is a community day so i can understand why they would want to protect that 'family' atmosphere by segregating. It probably isn't personal to our fans but having said that they could have made that clear instead of being vague which then people assume is because they think we are trouble and it makes them look unfriendly.
Did this happen last season? I can't remember when they joined the league.

Re: Boreham Wood (A) 30/3/18
Last season (or maybe the previous one?!), we weren't allowed in the bar, or the car park, and nobody was particularly friendly about it. We were advised to use the local Wetherspoons which, as John says above, is a complete dive. The away end has no cover, and is out of range of the PA system so you can't hear the teams being announced or any other information. On the positive side, their chips were good!
Not my favourite away day by a long chalk, but a decent result will cheer up proceedings!

Sounds enthralling
Re: Boreham Wood (A) 30/3/18
This will be my third visit and we have been segregated and excluded from the bar on both other occasions. They have been allowing a few clubs in this season and with it being community day, a day all about bringing people together I thought they would of had a more relaxed approach to us. Their loss as already stated, the town isn’t blessed with any decent pubs and we have looked high and low in search.Steelworks End wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:45 amWe've played there twice (I think) and each has been segregated.
But I'm sure we will make a decent day of it, we usually do!!

Sounds like a jolly old place to go to. See you and nick and evryone else making the journey in the ground (no cover). What happens if it rains. I want to stand with Barrow fans but i will not be standing in the rain all afternoon for no man. Will transfer myself to the home end if it gets bad.McMark wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 2:45 pmThis will be my third visit and we have been segregated and excluded from the bar on both other occasions. I don't think that we are in a position to complain about an uncovered terrace being made available to visiting supporters, are we?

Plenty of good boozers in St Albans just up the road if you are travelling.
We are going to Spoons pre game as John said but will be sampling the beer in St Albans post match and potentially a curry too ....
