Why is it always Andrew Casson we hear from when it comes to squad building? Its not him I want to hear from, its the manager. I want to know whether Ady Pennock feels there's no rush, whether he thinks we're looking good to get some of his targets and what he feels we need. Anyone other than him saying those things means absolutely nothing and if anything it just adds further weight to the suggestion that some people have too much say in matters on the playing side of the club.

Also adds further weight to the rumours Pennock isn't here no more

Aye wish Andrew Casson would speak less regarding squad far too much interference in it coming from a background of almost zero knowledge of football let alone this level.
Also still no word from Pennock since the last game of season.

I envisage NWEM non-story generating several pages of complaints about the club - again. Probably a reporter thinking 'we haven't done anything on Barrow recently, let's see if we can get something from Casson'. Casson says, nothing happening worth mentioning, a few irons in the fire, etc.... , so reporter confects a story around that.
The piece in NWEM looks like a space filler to me, I wouldn't read anything into it at all.

Why don’t the evening mail ring Pennock if they want a comment on playing staff rather than the office boy?

You're probably correct in the main Jim. However, for non-stories and space fillers on team affairs and transfer dealings you would expect the media's go to person to be the manager. The fact that it isn't speaks volumes I feel.
When was the last time we heard from Pennock now? Straight after the Chester game I think. In that time we've rightly released or put up for transfer virtually a whole squad, yet we've heard no thoughts from the manager on that or on his plans to bring players in. Unbelievable.

Perhaps Ady is lying in the sun somewhere contemplating whether he should carry on at Barrow with what has been offered.!!

Or perhaps he is just on holiday with his family and doesn't want to be disturbed.

Well then tell us that. Otherwise to allow AC to be the spokesperson for team affairs just comes across as weird.
Its more than that though. For too long people other than the manager have had too much to say on stuff they shouldn't.

Pennock did tell us in bar after last game of season that he was having a knee op this week.

Heard Pennock was walking around the ground waving his doctors note about showing it to everyone.

Non story from the Mail. Updates, yes, but let's hear about the plans for rebuilding from the Manager himself.(a little more than they must be the right type of player- really?) Where he sees the key to a successful campaign next season in the squad. Lessons to take forward, What even is his preffered set up, given it will be a new squad? To say we expect some transfer news in the next couple of weeks??
