Does anyone know the reason why Season Ticket holders weren’t allowed through the gate on the Popular Side?

Not trying to take anything away from the game only the steward mentioned that the club were trying to monitor the attendance more? as there were only two turnstiles open, which included people with tickets bought online and season tickets (as you say we're normally allowed through the main gates). This addtional headcount meant that the larger than normal crown didn't get in as quick (15.10 from us, as we had queued for 20 minutes)

If that were the reason the it would be a feasible one, but it was extremely poorly communicated and executed.
A steward (or a sign) at the entrance to the car park area would have stopped many, many people walking all the way down, with the expectation of entrance, only to be turned back. Even mentioning it on social media would have helped a lot.
Many people were blaming the stewards on the gate for the situation (I don't, they didn't make the decision). Poor decision making and planning on the part of those in charge, especially at a time when 'they' are bemoaning the lack of people coming and wanting better gates. I suspect next match (stupid early kick-off and on the telly) will now also be missing those [SwearFilter] off at the organisation today too.

well said, I was with a parent, who would normally go in through the concession gate, they got turned back, then ten minutes later the stewards changed their mind and let people come through the concession gate?? hay its easy to criticise, but please dont complain about low gates when the organisation is like this

They have to do better with these things & as Hoss says a few signs posted around would help ease the confusion & ease the entrance for the crowd etc

That's irrelevant to the situation. The stewards/gatepeople were there...just stood around and sending people back where they came from. It wasn't a shortage of people.

I think you are missing the point. This is a post about the gate (big thing that swings open) that is open for ST holders to g0 through every home match, today being closed to that purpose even though the same number of stewards are present and, in fact, probably having to deal with more (certainly more abuse) because of the matter. The number of turnstiles being manned is possibly a good point for another post, but nothing at all to do with this one.

Exactly, back to the original point, if the club want to monitor attendance more closely then plan better (for example, how can they advertise on social media for a physio but not for additional turnstile attendees?) rather than saying *no tickets through the main popular side gates* which caused tailbacks and fans to miss the start of the game

the stewards are not there to collect season tickets, they only do it because of the shortage of turnstile attendees. the stewards are there for the safety of people both inside and outside the ground, today they were told do your job

So, on days when there are MORE turnstiles open they (the stewards) allow quicker entry by taking the STs at the gate but today, when there are LESS turnstiles open they are told to not allow quicker entry in the normal manner. That's what you are saying?

Yes was very strange today. As with every Sat, ticket printed, two turnstiles Open, perfect. But today with a larger crowd expected ‘one turnstile’ open back of Popular Sude. Two stewards there, but did not tell queuing fans tickets were not being taking until tempers were being tested. I waiting in 75 yard queue until five yards to go to say Eventbrite tickets were not being taken and to walk around ground to the Ticket taking Reception. Waited in long queue there to be told by the hard working lady to go to Main Reception for enveloped tickets. Missed the first seven mins of the game! If that is to be the case in the future it would have been better to start this after the Christmas games. Last week when there were only 581 of us turning up in those conditions it would have been harder to take. Given all this it was a great performance...looking forward to Sat...but takingcash this time!!

Let's hope the new owners just bring a bit of prefesionalisn to the club. But it'll be the same old poor excuses and nothing will change.
