Does anyone think corona virus could cause disruption to remaining fixture list, and threaten our promotion push? Asks Mr Doom n Gloom

To be honest I’d be surprised if we get through the remaining fixtures without a hitch.
When people start dying the government will spring into action and I can see some games getting cancelled for sure. If we have to play behind closed doors the club will take a big hit. Plus what happens if 1 or more of our players gets the virus. The same goes for opposing teams.

FFS it's flu give it a rest

This is the second incident of this heinous unrelated topic in recent days.

Posters are advised to wash their hands regularly, keep checking for further outbreaks of this subject and try keeping their bloodshot eyes open.

Well we’ll have to see what happens over the next two or three weeks. It’s annoying that the media’s all over it fueling the hysteria.
Like I said though, if any of our players or opposing teams players get the virus we will not be playing those games. Games will be cancelled.

Hmmm, in the 20th century another new strain of flu infected 20% of the world’s population and killed more people than lost their lives in WW1

More folk as stated die of common cold, flu, measles, starvation etc etc

I'm not a fan of bottled beers usually but they can be convenient if it's busy at half time and you have 2 minutes to down your drink. A slice of lime always nice with a Corona.

I listened to a debate on the radio a couple of days ago and one person said that there were 10 million cases of TB worldwide in 2017, and in 2018 TB killed 1.5 million people. Over 20% of the cases were in India, but nobody suggested banning travel to India, or group gatherings in India, or screening arrivals in UK from India.

Corona seems much the same as flu, the only difference at present is that there is no available vaccination against it for the elderly and most vulnerable. I was working in the NHS when swine flu was all the rage: there was a lot of fuss about it at the time and I always suspected it wouldn't come to anything.

I think the media like things like this because they can fill a lot of airtime or newsprint. Also, they love wheeling out analysts and pundits to give their forecast (speculation) about the doom it will bring. And of course a lot of media people have been short of a topic since Brexit was sorted
