Highlight of the season

Post by Jameston1 »

Another one from me... Trying to life the doom and gloom...

What's your highlight at home this season?

What's your highlifht away this season?

Home for me is beating Ebbsfleet 7-0 a poor team but a point where I thought 'we are actually going to win the league'

Away - finally beating Fylde with a ridiculous amount of away support. A great day out

For me - finally beating Fylde at their place. I came away thinking for the first time that everything is in place and it’s all lining up. A superb statement performance.

Beating Bromley live on BT in front of 3000+ at Holker Street. First time I genuinely thought we are going to do this rather than just keep expecting the bubble to burst

Notts county away. The day the rest of the league took note! Atmosphere before, during and after the game (And hooters😂) and to top it off, barrow going top!

Notts County away. We took them apart and the atmosphere was brilliant. Best game I have seen a Barrow team play since 1966 :D :D :D
Any 7-0 at Home :D

Over 1700 turning up on a Tuesday night for Boreham Wood at home and thinking 'something's happening' for the first time. Seeing the queue outside the popular side that night was the moment I thought it could be a special season.

Of the games I've witnessed - FC United at home. Once we got in at half time 3-0(?) up it would have been easy to drop a few gears and stroll around for the second half, especially given we'd pasted Ebbsfleet the week before. The fact that we continued to press and won 7-0 proved what Evatt demands of this team. It could've easily been 12 or 13.
Popular side since '03.

Not what the question asked properly but here’s my 5 highlights from this season

1) Aldershot 1-2 Barrow: 7/9/19
A much needed win to get a monkey of the teams back - could of been much different if it wasn’t for the combination of a Dixon Penalty save and one of the best timed pressure tackles iv seen from Matt Platt in the follow up

2) Notts County 0-3 Barrow: 16/11/19
one of the best performances I have seen from a Barrow side in my years watching the club. Tactical masterclass from Ian Evatt and real signs that this side was in the promotion battle - the day Barrow went to the top of the table

3) AFC Fylde 0-1 Barrow: 1/1/20
We had to beat them sometime and after drawing the last 2 games over the Christmas period it was a huge result to get the win on New Year’s Day, in front of a fantastic away support

4) Bromley 1-2 Barrow: 5/10/19
Tried to keep this in date order and almost forgot about this game.
The first time we had beaten Bromley and a brilliant battled performance to win the game surviving an onslaught in the final 5 minutes with Bromley throwing everything at us

5) Barrow 2-0 Bromley: 18/1/20
a bumper gate of over 3000 in front of the nations viewing public on BT Sport and a great result to clinch a huge victory at the top of the table
