Ian Evatt's statement

I whole heartedly support Ian Evatt's statement about the way some club chairman,notably Jim Parmenter(Dover Athletic)saying Barrow have achieved nothing. They are showing the Barrow team no respect for all they have achieved. They were 4points clear for a reason and I think they would have gone on to stretch the lead even further The games they lost were sometimes due to some poor refereeing decisions.
Barrow have played attacking passing football,,something I thought Barrow would never play and I would like to thank Ian Evatt for bringing in players such as Rooney and Quigley and creating a Barrow team who think nothing is impossible.
I for one am looking forward to seeing Barrow play in the Football League something they richly deserve.If the chairman of the other clubs finally decide to null and void the league, I just hope that Barrow are asked to join the Second division as that would suit the clubs who want to avoid relegation in that league a d also even there numbers up.That may yet turn out to be the least controversial decision of them all and satisfy most parties

I'm content for IE to growl menacingly in Dover's direction. That's what I would expect.
However there is another way of looking at this Methusalah old man. When you listen to any whinging coming from the NL about our position whether its from CEOs or grumpy fans it is notable that virtually all of them now go on about the fact that the season is incomplete, that we had not actually won anything or if you are from Nottingham that the mighty County would have cleaned up without a doubt. We were bound to be caught etc. etc.
This is of course because based on what actually did happened during the 2019/20 season (i.e. facts) any method of measuring performance based on merit had us at the top. That is the true mark of our position - whichever way you look at it. And its why you do not get serious challenges based on the interpretation of data. And that's why the criticism always sounds petty and subjective. Because to be honest that's what it is.
One of the things that I've liked about the approach taken by the EFL and FA has been the assertion that end of season must be concluded "based on merit" with "merit" being determined by results not conjecture. That phrase might become very important to us in the next week or two when decisions have to be taken.

Is this the Chairman who allowed his team to board a train in London at 12 noon and expect them to arrive in time for a football match, and once they got underway several of their players were allowed to get off the train knowing Barrow had offered to meet them at Lancaster with a coach to allow them to get to Barrow (albeit with a later kick off) to play the game, I think this guy should take a serious look at himself.

Best thing is to say nothing.
Our own board have been notably quiet on any sort of statements, comments etc, which I am pleased about.

Was a great interview, Ian Evatt is always very articulate. Shame he’s come off social media but can understand why

Totally agree with this. A good Cumbrian phrase (ok a lot of Barrovians still offer allegiance to Lancashire) - "if tha knows nowt, say nowt. If tha knows summat, say less".
