Macclesfield/training
It was alluded in a weekend interview that we have moved out of Hopwood and now train at Macclesfields'training ground (surprised our new Media man hadn't passed this on to the fanbase). It was said that this meant rather than sharing with students and, until recently, Toronto Wolfpack RL we now had facilities to ourselves. Does anyone know how this is affected with the emergence today of a phoenix Macclesfield under club legend Danny Whitaker and everyones favourite taff Robbie Savage.

Don't let the old man in.
Re: Macclesfield/training
I hope this "new media man" or the new SLO can start actually informing us on goings on at the club rather than us relying on twitter or our own forum..

What is it exactly you'd like passing on that wasn't said at the weekend? We move this week. Mark Simpson usually does updates from training on a Thursday, which I imagine may be the first day there.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:40 pm It was alluded in a weekend interview that we have moved out of Hopwood and now train at Macclesfields'training ground (surprised our new Media man hadn't passed this on to the fanbase). I wouldn't think that preparing a phoenix club who will play in the equovalent to Holker's League in 21-22 will affect matters regarding full time training

Re: Macclesfield/training
Have we not moved because it was a pain in the backside with Covid/being close to students etc etc? Seems a cut and dry sensible move if so
Re: Macclesfield/training
Just ask the manager on the Q & A forum. We don't need to make a big deal out of everything however it is modern times I suppose.
Re: Macclesfield/training
Wasn't aware that we were only moving this week. Assumed it had already happened a while ago. On the second point the standard of the phoenix club wasn't my concern more where the facilities fit into the new ownership and would there be any problem. For instance the new owner/Savage intimated they are going to implement a lot of community functions. Will this impact the training facilities ? Sorry for the confusion.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 7:03 amWhat is it exactly you'd like passing on that wasn't said at the weekend? Re: Macclesfield/training
I’m sure Paul Hornby mentioned in his interview the good thing about new facilities was not having to share with other groups. Maybe we might have to now have if by any chance the new Macclesfield want to use these facilities again?
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: Macclesfield/training
I would think any phoenix Macclesfield team will be part time and training in the evenings so wouldn't affect Barrow training during the day.

Re: Macclesfield/training
There's quite a few positives. The pitches are significantly better. There's exclusivity during tge day and much more room, including for team meetings etc. There's a large house we can use for players which helps make it easier to finance.
Egerton Youth Centre btw

Worked in Knutsford for ten years with a lad who had major connections to Egerton FC so know where it is.

Re: Macclesfield/training
Started to watch the QAs on iFollow interesting to hear DD speak about how much better the new training facilities are particularly the pitches are and reflect match day conditions much better .
