Leyton Orient (H)

Post by Suffolk Blue » Wed Oct 06, 2021 12:02 pm

Are we 100% sure this game will go ahead on Saturday ?Orient have two members in the Cyprus squad for the WC qualifiers and Northern Ireland have now called up a third.

Rules are that a league game can be postponed at the request of the affected club if 3 or more squad members are called up.

Compared to our absentees thats a drop in the ocean. Surely these clubs have big enough squads to cover this. Apparently Swindon have five on international duty but can't call their game off because its being broadcast on Sky .

One of their fans on the League Two forum suggested a postponement was considered by Orient but it was confirmed last night that the game is going ahead as normal.
Popular side since '03.

International weekend will probably have the knock on effect of a fair few watching via ifollow instead of making the journey.
Score 2-2

IIRC Leyton Orient brought quite a decent support when we played them in the national league but yer the ifollow option will be tempting for them

Hard game will give us some indication of how well we are doing.
3-2.(Hopefully Jason Taylor is on the bench).
I talked to a neighbour who bets a lot saying how we got beat by Fleetwood and he said they score a lot of goals.
Just checked the table only 3 clubs have scored more and yes I know they have conceded alot hence they are just out of the relegation zone ,so Tuesday was probably not a bad result considering who we put out .

International weekend means us UK-based exiles can watch this one on iFollow. Excellent.

Happy memories of this fixture from the 1969/70 season when Barrow AFC were in the old Div 3 :D

A bus load of Orient fans turned up outside Barrow Public Park and rudely interrupted our lunch time game of footy by asking where the nearest chippy was? We all suggested they opt for pies instead and directed them towards Greens  :D

Cheeky devils then returned and challenged us to a game. So there we were on Barrow Park- about 20 Orient fans (the rest watched from the coach) playing against a bunch of kids (I was aged 9) from the surrounding housing estates. LA13 won! :scarf:

I think there's a few old heads, on here, who played in that game ;)
I wonder if there's any Orient fans reading this - who also played - and are planning to return on Saturday?
You won't catch us in the park, this time, though

The game at Holker Street, which me and my pals attended, was a 1-1 draw, if I remember correctly?

It was 1-1 and Leyton Orient finished top of division 3 that season.

Need a massive game from Taylor and White in midfield. We can nick this one but thinks its going to be our toughest battle yet. Back us at home against anyone and going for 2-1 att 2429 with 257 O’s
