I beleive new seats are to be installed in front of the Cross Bar and Terracing at the Holker street corner with Wilkie Road is to be flattened and new seating installed which will also hold new toilets and food outlets, this will improve away capacity to 800 instead of 600.

Talking to a women at work this week she said work has been delayed because of rising cost`s of material and could be next year before the away end work starts, all new seats need to be in I think by April 2023, going to be interesting watching how it all unfolds.

Building materials have been rising for over a year now and they won’t stop going up. Get it built and get us secured in this league before we are kicked out again but this time for a legitimate reason

I think money - or the lack of it - is a real problem at the moment.

Agreed. All this delay makes Barrow look tinpot. We need to have faith that we are a League club and get on with it.

Unfortunately the owners do not have a bottomless pit of money that can keep throwing at the club. Like everyone energy price rises and cost of living rises will affect their businesses and lives just like us all and the worst is yet to come in October.

I’m sure the owners will have a long term plan/options for the ground, we as fans just have to be patient. Remember just a few seasons back we were minutes away from relegation to NLN and we had a ground which reflected that status. IMHO the owners will be looking at every aspect of decisions taken now and how these will impact things in future. Whichever way you look at things these decisions will be monumental so let’s just bear with the club and trust the owners to make the right calls.

We are regularly mentioning costs. I’m still not convinced the proposal is the most cost effective / easiest solution. Enabling works alone will be expensive- ie flatting the East terrace.

I was informed no one can be in there until all the players are on the pitch!
That puzzles me as to how the "new" seats will be occupied.

We rarely fill what seats we have now so what makes you think the cross bar end will be occupied. The way I see it these extra seats are just to satisfy the EFL as what we have now is adequate for what we need

We are football league now.

Even in the national league north we need certain amount of seats.

Let's face it the ground is struggling to make national league standard.

Be amazed if they let us back in if we got relegated.

Can I ask when was the last time building materials went down in price if that's their excuse??

Tin pot maybe hoping for relegation so work doesn't have to be done is the ambition.

Rising energy costs shouldn’t massively effect something that will cost 100’s of thousands that should have already been budgeted for. I’m all for the tightening of belts but end of the day if we don’t have 2000 seats by April we will be kicked out of the league. It’s literally that simple.
