Not again. Why are we allowing Carlisle to dictate kick off times? When they played us at home,it was a normal kick off time of 3pm.A 3pm kick off gives people from Barrow more time to get to Carlisle. If this is going forward I think the same kick off time should apply for the reverse fixture at Holker St.When I went to the last fixture at Carlisle there was a lot of trouble mainly from the Carlisle supporters. Our club is not the problem. :sentoff:

IF you read it it's because England could be playing a world cup quarter final match at 3pm - most if not all of the fixtures on that day will probably end up getting changed.

Last year the KO was changed by the chief of police, would imagine it’s him again.

Why would a Scottish team be bothered about their kick off clashing with England?

It wasn't the as you put it " Chief of Police" it was the football liaison officer and if he.d got his way this time it would have been a 7.45 ko on the preceding Friday evening.

The problem with the Carlisle police football liaison officer is he appears to be always wanting himself to be relevant when it comes to the Carlisle v Barrow games. Comes across as a bit power mad. He needs to take a leaf out of our Rickies book a proper man of the people copper

That would have been fantastic

No surprise it’s been changed; they wouldn’t want a load of Barrow fans coming out of the ground after 5 then all heading into Carlisle to watch England
PC Wallbank has tweeted asking for opinions on travel so if anyone who used the special train thought that was a good idea probably worth getting in touch to let him know

I don't think a 1pm kick off will deter any Barrow fans who wish to view the England fixture in Carlisle. Nor will it deter anyone who wishes to become totally inebriated before kick off.

I traveled to Carlisle last season on the special train. It wasn't as full as I expected. Apparently, the early morning trains were packed and alcohol was in abundance. Hundreds of Barrow fans were also in the Carlisle pubs hours before the 1pm kick off.

I can’t imagine Barrow fans will want to travel back on the train when the England game is on. Things could get a bit saucy if they decide to stay in Carlisle to watch the game, I wouldn’t fancy trying to find a pub to watch a game packs with Carlisle people, with my barrow shirt on.

This may not be the sensible solution that the police think it is and may be more problematic than the original 3 pm kickoff.

If we take similar numbers there again then …if…Barrow fans stay to watch England there will be many pubs packed with Our fans & with a bit of planning we could have nominated pubs to go in, Just a thought 💭.

True, on an ordinary day without an England QF, I can’t see any publican nominating their pub for away fans to watch the game. Fans who will only come to the pub just before kickoff, whereas locals who don’t go to watch CUFC games could be there hours before spending cash. I can’t imagine pubs would choose to lose business like that.

So, in short, I don’t think we would get a nominated pub in our rivals city when there could potentially be an England QF on.

With your Barrow shirt on? It'll be freezing up there in November
You wouldn't get any bother. The hoodlums look for their own kind - and know when they've found them. They don't bother with shirt/scarf wearing fans. If you think you'd feel vulnerable in their pubs wear a jacket to hide your shirt. You'll feel a lot warmer too :D

You must be a very optimistic person thinking England will be playing in a World Cup QF
