All trains are cancelled, I’ve booked the bus for me and 2 mates tonight, they’ve took my money but I’m being told the bus is full. Any other way of getting there?
There’s still trains
7:47 gets in at 10:17
8:49 gets in at 11:17
Coming back
20:11 gets in at 23:36
21:00 gets in at 23:36

I wouldn’t put 1p on them trains either being in time or even running and that would be the case if there wasn’t a strike, the trains service is a disgrace at the moment.

Northern is not one of the rail companies affected by today's ASLEF strike so the through services to Manchester are running.

Nice to see you got there safely AJ - we thought the train option was a bit too pricey so we’re coming down in a car. BTW How are your driving lessons going - is it still safe to travel on the road in Barrow, ha -

Train down fine, currently in Manchester having a few beers, coming back is where it’s limited . Going to leave a few minutes earlier and get 17.12 from Stockport, at the moment. If you don’t want to leave early there are options back but later on
