Will be very surprised if this game goes ahead on Friday. Barrow area expecting some VERY heavy rain fall starting Tuesday night onwards. Want your Barrow fix get there today imo.

I doubt the Barrow or Accrington players and management staff would be to fussed if the game is postponed given the ridiculous fixture schedule over xmas.

Given the nature of the opposition on New Years Day I think a postponement would not be that bad at all.

The forecast is bad for tomorrow, but hopefully won’t be too bad on Thursday and Friday.

Not the end of the world if it’s off, hopefully Walsall vs Wrexham goes ahead and they’re a bit more tired than us on NYD.

Important it goes ahead. Club has already lost December income through the postponement of the Gillingham game. Cashflow must be stretched.

No need for any of that. Hadrian is pretty much correct in that the gate receipts contribute significantly to cash-flow. If cash flows become irregular then it does put strain on finances.

This now must be a considerable worry for a club like Morecambe who need their receipts to pay wages on time. Losing home games would quickly threaten their ability to keep going.

All I would say is that playing four games during this period can really hurt players physically. So if it became necessary to re-arrange one of them there probably would be an upside for us.

There is no way this game will be on! Which I actually think will be good for several reasons, for us.

We don't want this postponed. The club need the money and another home win will keep us in the title race. All clubs have lots of games at the moment. We are all in the same boat. I hope it's on

Why are Morecambe referred to? Their pitch is in a much better condition and hasn't had a game cancelled despite the rain, where as the barrow pitch has been cutting up for months . Drainage appears to be a real problem!

Was the Gillingham postponement not because of rapid snow melt that the pitch couldn't deal with? As I'm hoping to go tomorrow (trains permitting) I'm constantly looking at the Walney Island weather observations :-|

Work on the new seated stands knackered the drainage with the heavy loads on the pitch and another music gig booked in the summer so not much time for work on the pitch so same problems again next season.
