I finally did it...

I approached this forum two years ago to research Holker Street for a book I am writing on football grounds. It's still ongoing.

At the time I said I'd love to visit HS as part of groundhopping and on Saturday, I finally got the opportunity. I'd travelled up for my mate's birthday and stole upon the opportunity to tick another ground off, seeing as they were at home.

What a pleasant stadium you have. I wasn't disappointed. I love the additions to the Main Stand, though I appreciate they've only been added due to FL regulations.

I found your fans warm and welcoming. I sat in the Main Stand on row H (seat 32 I think). The woman who sat next to me was very pleasant and talked about how great the club is and its history - which I was aware of from my research but it's great to hear fans talk so passionately about it. I hope the club can prevail in the Play-Offs and get into L1. I know it'll be tough but it'll bring the club much-needed revenue. IF you are on this forum I'd like to say a massive thank you to the lady from Kent who was so warming and welcoming from the turnstiles and throughout the match.

Should Barrow draw my football club, Sheffield United, at Holker (or even play in a friendly) - I'll make sure I try and make the journey.

I think I've just found my favourite second team. It was a good match and two well-taken goals - especially the counter-attack in added on time - the free-kick was something special too!

It was the first time I had an opportunity to visit. I last came to Barrow in August 2021 but I don't think they were at home at that time. The season had started - I know as much as that.

I see Barrow is at Doncaster on 20th April. The Blades are at home to Burnley. If that game gets moved for TV etc then I'll be very tempted to make a trip to the Eco Power Stadium and cheer on the Barrow.

Good man, glad you enjoyed your visit,and really pleased about your positive feedback, it’s normally negative,criticism of away fans,probably cos they normally lose.

I want to visit Barrow again to see my mate. Hopefully, they'll be at home again and I can come and visit again.
