Barrow AFC can confirm Emile Acquah has departed the club to join Dundee FC for an undisclosed fee.

Emile joined The Bluebirds in the summer of 2023 from National League side Maidenhead United. During his spell at The SO Legal Stadium, he played 89 times for Barrow, scoring 16 goals while providing two assists.

The big man netted a fine goal on his home debut during a 2-1 win over Sutton United in August 2023.

Particularly during his first season at Holker Street, Emile was best known for netting some spectacular goals with his sensational strikes against Gillingham and MK Dons being the pick of the bunch.

Acquah ended his first season at Barrow with nine goals in all competitions.

Last season, the 24-year-old scored seven goals for the club and won our Goal Of The Season Award for another sensational strike against Port Vale last August.

Everyone here at Barrow would like to wish Emile the best in Scotland, and we’d like to thank him for all of his contributions in a Barrow shirt.

Are you suggesting he’s a centre half but we’ve been playing him up front? He was scared of heading the ball

Didn't see that one coming. I wish him well, scored some good goals but not enough for what we need from a striker.

£33,000 up front & up too £100,000 if add ons are met.

No brainier that’s what he was brought in to do. Score a few and sell on

Happy days

Showed glimpses but way too inconsistent, not sure he’ll do much up in Scotland as it’s quite an intensive league

Glad he's moved on but wish him well all the same.

Worth bearing in mind that the reason we are benefiting from this is that he was put on a three year contract.

IIRC he was the first of Iain Woods three year projects designed to make us money. I guess from that perspective its job done.

Unexpected but can't say im surprised, had his moments and some impressive goals but just never had the consistency, feel it would have been a gamble of a season for him again and we've cashed in which we can re invest hopefully
