IF we stay up.

Still a big IF but if we do stay up what do we need to do next season in people’s opinions?

For me:

- A new manager preferably experienced.
- Shrewd recruitment not rushed quality over quantity.
- MJ as captain build the team around him.

Regardless of which league we are in we need a new manager, someone with a bit of experience at the level we are at. A major think off the pitch about how what we want to achieve and a plan, style and identity of football, types of player we recruit to fit that ie. Needs to be young, hungry players and more from non league rather than ex championship players dropping down the leagues. A bit of experience needed too but not crocks or those past their best.

This season has been a disaster and if we do stay up I still say it’s our biggest achievement yet in this league given what’s gone on. Lessons have to be learnt and those in charge can’t repeat the same mistakes. Thwre is maybe even a change and restructure needed off the pitch I don’t know wood and Harvey’s full roles but certainly footballing decisions over the last 18 months or so have been terrible.

We could still miss out , hopefully not.
We must get. another 2 wins before Newport.
Irrespective of what happens we need a new structure .
We don't have a reserve team nor a acadamey or even a woman's team.
We need to be lean and mean.
Football clubs remind me of Galtieri junta .
Talk a good job but useless.
We want hands on people.
To me the training in Manchester did not work, recruitment has been abysmal .
I don't know local football but maybe we can look for players from the North East or Liverpool with a hunger.
Weve seen players come here with a pedigree but not performed yet others with lower league football are hungry.
We took risks in players with injury prone players.
It's about pride and these players need to show it .
David Batty since finishing at Leeds has no interest in football it was his job and he did it with a passion .
Hopefully we won't fail Saturday

Duncan Ferguson as manager.
NO DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL.
NO PEOPLE CURRENTLY AT THE CLUB INVOLVED IN RECRUITMENT.
Yes, MJ as captain (if Dunc agrees).
Boys Are Back In Town as the walk out music. Actually, I'd love to have the previous announcer back.
An experienced first choice keeper.

Is that the same Duncan Ferguson whose record reads: Managed 2, Relegated 2? In 18 games at Forest Green won one game? And hasn't been in management for 2 years. That Duncan Ferguson?
Or is there another one with even a smidge of success?

If the current management team of Foley, helped by Coughlin, keeps us up, would they be worth considering?

Whatever league we are in if we have a new manager (go get John Coleman….) and the line up looks similar to this I’d be happy
Stanway
New right back/New quick centre back/New brick shithouse centre back/New left back
Smith MJ
Whitfield/New number 10 who can create and score goals/New rapid left winger who can also cross a good ball
Rose

Actual options on the bench, not just folk your having to bring on because one of the starting 11 is knackered

If Sam keeps us up, obviously they should give it to him.

The one who was lumbered with FGR when they were virtually relegated anyway? The one who had his budget demolished at Cally and ended up working for nowt?
The one who ably interim-managed Everton? Who takes shit from nobody, including owners? Yes ..that's the one

Just checked - 20 and 27 September when we beat Crewe at home, then Crawley away. It’s the only time we have got back to back wins in the league this season.

I’ve got a good feeling about Saturday. I think we’ll do it again.
