Q and A session

Post by WalneyOne » Sat Aug 01, 2026 1:05 pm

Any updates?
I saw on X that someone requested asking could the caterers be paid for last seaon.
Not a good look for the club if suppliers haven't been paid.

It was a good and encouraging session. Nobody asked about bills.

Adam Murray said last night it’s looking like one before the start of the season. Missed out on another so they moved to bring someone else in and he didn’t fancy it in the end.

Prime example of when “just needing the thumbs up from the board” doesn't make things done and dusted.

I know Jonty, Murray also said at the time they'll take us to the next level, disappointed because we really need promotion and whilst money must be tight we sold both Stanway and Mccann that makes it even more frustrating!

Hopefully the current squad can have a decent Season.

Still think we miss someone with that x factor because no doubt we'll be tough to beat but scoring goals is tough when we lack a bit of creativity!

Yes, that is disappointing to miss out but by the sounds of it the player has changed his mind. He will have been backed (i think) but there are budgets to keep within.

I get that Jonty BUT if we miss out of the playoffs because of procrastination the board might regret it !

Hmmm. I hope thats not the case. If they don’t want to come here and 100% be part of it then rather we put a line through it and look elsewhere.

They can dress things up any way they want to put a positive spin but losing Tony Shearers financial input is a blow and will restrict us. Bar the odd exception its been one out one in during the close season and since Murray said he wanted another two in I think Stanway has been the only one to go.

Paul Hornby said they have sufficient funds for the next two to three years. But anyone wishing to invest in the club would be more than welcome. Tony’s investment is still there it will be diluted in the fullness of time though 40% owner investors don’t come along everyday, of course Tony will be greatly missed.
