Just brought in a goalkeeper from Charlton Athletic on a two week loan as cover for regular keeper Joe Duncan due to his international u21 call up.

Southend average attendance this Season is 8,336 so probably close to 10,000 this weekend, going to be difficult but a point would be great hopefully we turn up.

Southend won 1-6 away at Gateshead last Saturday. That's an eye-opener in itself but becomes even more breathtaking when we find that Southend were 0-6 up at half time! Or, to put it another way, Gateshead won the second half 1-0.

Hmmm? Perhaps if we do 'an Argentina' on them in the first half and deploy a low block (a very low block) we can then hit them in the second half as they are obviously spent after 45 minutes.

High scoring team but we’ve had excuse after excuse.
We have played clubs all above us not surprising with the start we had.

We can do this one of two ways.
Go like lambs to the slaughter and get wolloped or frustrate them and pinch a win.
Imagine a win here with the next two games at home.

Whatever the result just want us to back up the second half performance from last week for a full 90 minutes. Obviously a result here would be fantastic but after this we have a run of games where we actually need to be taking points from

Murray will approach this game the same way as the others. Playing high up the pitch and rolling the sleeves up. One way- win, lose or draw. I doubt he will spend a lot of focus on what Southend will do, he will put his way up against all the sides and let them work us out.

Numbers weren’t great for Worthing so not worth their while so not doing it

Too late for this one but with the right advertising it could work for the club.
Needs to be marketed right, beer and food laid on at a break even basis until kick off. Drinks offers during the game, Always more profit in soft drinks compared to alcohol stuff for the kids to do sell it to the families as an event. Bluey and a pitch walk ons and a kick about pre kick off.
Staff wages to be taken in to concentration too of course.
