However, when there was a sniff of promotion play-offs the team went into another one of their no goals/no wins ruts. A lack of consistent goal scoring has been an obvious weakness since joining the EFL...

Saving the goals for the League, hopefully. Only pre-season of course but these two home games feel like last season again. No goals and defeats.

Not being involved in the relegation scrap will be progress. That said we need to think bigger than that otherwise what's the point in being in the EFL.
