Re: Decisions being made

Why don't we have enough players? The same reason as every other National league club. Loanees returned to parent clubs. Players out of contract. Season should be completed now. National league clubs are all in the same boat I don't think that's actually true in our case though, and we would have e...

Re: Decisions being made

Absulutely ludicrous to imagine National league teams finishing the season with playoffs. How many teams could? We certainly couldn't if we were dragged into it. We don't have enough players.... Really? I'm pretty sure we could in terms of having enough available players. That's not to say there ar...

Re: Decisions being made

Anyone thought they might promote 1 club via a playoff? Barrow get a bye to the final as ‘champions’ normal play-off spots play their usual round robins and the winner of that meet us in the final and the winner promoted to EFL2? If this lock down is relaxed soon, then these matches could get playe...

Re: Worst Away Days

Probably the trip over the NE in the early 90’s where the game was called off as we’d virtually reached our destination. It was due to a combination of snow and wind, with the wind finally doing for us as it threatened to bring down a tree close to the ground. Can’t remember who it was we were supp...

When was ollie parillon? at barrow?
Mid-90s, same season as Andy Whittaker I think. Then he went to Accrington the following season as part of the deal that saw us sign Ashley Hoskin if I am remembering it correctly.

Re: Notts fan view of yesterday

I really don't get this business about how the team were at Meadow Lane. I remember all the moaning at the time and put it down to sore losers tbh. They wouldn't have liked the antics of a Paul Cox side! My memory of the game there is we simply ran the legs off them- one of our best performances of...

Rooney misses again
Why do we keep letting him have them? Rooney has been unbelievable this season, but he's not a great penalty taker. Even the ones he scored aren't particularly good.

Re: prediction v sutton away sat

I know I’m no Ollie Gunnar Solksjar, but I think a plastic, fast, flat pitch might actually suit our game??!! That point has been made before, but Evatt has said that isn't the case and he'd rather play on grass. That said, we were excellent on Bromley's earlier in the season. 3G pitches make for a...

Re: Dover Photos

That pitch looked good last night and amazing in these pics. Whilst is usually does look good in pictures, I'm not sure it plays as well as it looks. It always seems rock solid, you only need to watch the bounce of the ball compared to other pitches to see that. It flies off the surface and simple ...

Re: Maidenhead v Barrow match thread

Excellent today, against what has to be said was dreadful opposition. We controlled the game from start to finish, with the only slight concern being how many chances we missed. It was almost embarrassing how easy it was for us at times, I struggle to remember seeing us so dominant away from home in...

Re: Barrow vs Chorley match thread

I Problem he has within this team is the style of play, the passing, moving and patience. Byron is a player who imo is best when he is playing off the shoulders of defenders with balls being played for him to run on to. His touch is a bit heavy for the passing and holding game and I would be workin...

What a bizarre comment! Who on god's green earth doesn't want people to know if they're not in attendance?

Re: Dagenham & Redbridge FC (A) match thread

Excellent result and comfortably the better team, but I actually thought it wasn't one of our better performances. We gave the ball away quite a lot, which is out of character for us. But what we did do was work, and even when not at our best we were still easily better than what looked like a very ...

Guess he didn't swear Guess he wasn't abusive Guess it wasn't a professional foul IE did he would appeal because it was recorded as. Hand ball yet people still made speculative comments as to what why and when.. Again proves we should see the facts before making judgement! Just saying..😉 Aye, let's...

Re: Torquay v BARROW match thread

That sounds like a load of [SwearFilter] to be fair. Not so sure. Rooney was getting very wound up in the 15 mins or so prior to the incident, flung an arm out at an opponent which went unseen, berated the referee over a free kick given to Torquay. He also did instantly scream at the referee twice ...
