+1
It felt like we were in a battle and it felt good but now.................nothing.
Shame really.
Blimey, it is early days yet. We ain't taking anything for granted yet.

I doubt that the prize will amount to anything like what is stated anyway. The main plus of this competition is the opportunity it gives for teams like ours to engage with our fans and, more importantly perhaps, potential fans. Not to be sniffed at.

More people have been talking about Barrow and Ebbsfleet over the last couple of weeks than you could ever hope for normally.

And the jibe about the toilets gracing the BS south was below the belt. We are now 5 points clear of relegation.

No.

Not one person outside of my circle of Barrow AFC friends has even mentioned it to me. Plenty want to talk about the FAC but not the state of the bogs.

Sorry.

Hope you mentioned it to them Reg, get em on board ;)
At least Mad Russell can hold on to a lead easier than BAFC

Plenty of people (non Barrow fans) have mentioned it to me, probably because of other Barrow supporters asking them to e-mail the comp including the sister-in-law, a manager at work & even a mate in London so word has been getting around, sadly I can't see it doing any good now though. I think the break inbetween by the comptition runners has taken away a lot of the momentum.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

From today's Guardian's Fiver.

As anyone who has ever been caught short at a match will realise, toilet facilities at football stadiums can leave something to be desired. Little wonder, then, that when organisers of the Best Loosers competition to find the worst football club toilets in Britain offered a £100,000 upgrade to the winners, certain teams' supporters should attempt to influence the decision.

Rather than spend a penny to impress the organisers, the fans had simply been voting multiple times in the online poll which will determine the winner. "They had to cancel it because people were cheating. I think some fans were voting 30 times," parped Oldham chief suit Alan Hardy, before urging fans to ensure the team don't finish the voting as a No2. "The money has just not been there in the past to revamp the toilets. I have been here for 31 years and some of the toilets are still the same now as they were then. It became clear quite quickly that some fans had managed to get around the security checks and were making multiple votes for their team," tooted the competition's spokeswoman, Janet Bentick. "I suppose it is testament to how passionately they feel about having new facilities installed at their clubs but it breached our terms and conditions."

What security checks? There were none to begin with that was the problem, they came at this in a real half-arsed manner and are now blaming us? [swear filter] 'em then.

Well whether this turns out to be a waste of time or not your posters are up on all the notice boards where I work Jonty.

They look pretty decent as well, good effort.

Only 31 years!!! I've been going to Holker Street since the mid-1950s and it's still the same wall I'm pi$$ing against! And don't even think about washing your hands unless it's raining. :(
