Thought Bolly would stay- had a decent season for me, maybe fancies a wander in BSN and a change of pace/work part time.

Smith slightly unlucky given workrate and crossing

Moyo can run but was out of position all the time

Nico (despite 3 games at end) and Lomax were mince.

Done a good job last term at stand-in full back - which I guess Peobs is being pencilled in for.

Shame but we stand by our man.

Baker is supposed to be our driving force through the middle but I don't see it at all. His set pieces have been woeful and he needs competition.

Disappointed to see Smith released, could have been a useful squad player.

[quote="Jonty"]Smith- didn't do a lot wrong. A no nonsense consistent performer.

Have to disagree with this though, Smith is a frustratingly inconsistent player.

All depends who comes in. Only time will tell whether Bayliss has made the right decisions

We are left with Adam boyes. The rest have yet to decide their future.

Thought Bolland could've had one last season with us, so I'm surprised with that. Also, thought Smith was a good prospect for the future, a versatile player who always put effort in. The others I'm not particularly bothered about. Just want to make sure we have some decent replacements lined up or else it's going to be a nervy close season.

Very disappointed to see Smith released, a player I really rated and don't think we saw the best of him at full-back. More to it than meets the eye perhaps??

Pleased Bolland's gone, despite him having his best season for us last season he was still no where near strong enough. A softer centre half I don't think I've seen.

Disappointed with Moyo going, didn't see that one coming given that Bayliss had already said he would be offering him a deal. Maybe it was the player himself who made the decision. I'm sure I read something at the start of the season about him saying he was taking a years break from going to Uni to see if he could make a go of it in football.

Nicholas was inevitable, and Lomax too probably. Not sure we ever saw the best of Lomax, but it may be that he just wasn't actually very good.

Robin Hulbert is obviously [SwearFilter] off about how he is being dealt with, which I find disappointing. He's always seemed a genuine player and bloke to me and I'd like to think we'd give him a bit more respect, I obviously don't know the full story though. Doesn't really seem to make sense that neither him or Ferrell have been spoken to yet though, especially given that in Hulbert's case at least it doesn't seem to be through any fault of the player that he hasn't been included.

Or was that just whilst he was under contract to the club?

Well I'm a bit surprised that Bolland has gone, but I suspect his wages might have been fairly high? Smith, on the other hand, I'd have kept, but maybe Bayles knows something we don't - I guess who we release depends on who we reckon is coming in....

Slightly disappointed that we haven't taken a punt on Moyo.

Couldn't care less about the rest.

Smith was becoming a problem. You only have to read his tweets to see that he's a bit of a [SwearFilter].

DB said on RC last night that the players released didn't suit next year's training regime (whatever that means), and releasing Bolly had a lot to do with money as well.

Interview here, 17 mins in or thereabouts.

No massive surprises. As I said, in another thread, I'd like to have seen Moyo retained though. Guess he might now link up with Shezza at Salford.

As for Bolland, he's long in the tooth and, I'd imagine, one of the highest earners. It's all about value for money.

Guess the training comment refers to a change of bases.
