Re: Bayliss - This weeks rhetoric
I dont think bayliss is upto the job his negative approach in having one striker in what he called a must win game is puzzling im sick of his bull shit excuses we have been going down hill since shez left look at our playing record its bad we played poor today against one of the poorer teams in our league its worrying and i think we look relegation certs even if we go down to conf north why would we ever want to be promoted if we cant afford to compete at this level anymore what would change if we spent a few seasons there an came back up we would be in the same situation i for one wont be wasting £14 next week until we go with a more attacking line up

Well that's a new one I've never seen anywhere before............supporters wanting relegation within 3 weeks of starting the season.
Before you do that, you might want to remember how long it took us to get here. It is not going to be easy to get back.

Re: Bayliss - This weeks rhetoric
Obviously Reg does'nt want the club to fail or that he is enjoying/gloating the fact that were struggling, Folk are angry with the club/team/bods at the moment and are fireing from the hip so to speak at each other.
We are mismanaged as a club and always have been as long as i've been a supporter, to be very honest im more surprised that we are still here as a club, Various bods over the years repeat the same old mistakes and put folks off the club.
I challenge any long standing fan to think back and reflect on those ex-diehards/fund raisers/sponsors /etc who have been treated badly / mis-informed or snubbed over the years, I think think of way to many to be healthy, why does this happen ?? its business and club suicide.
Stop biting the hand that feed you.
We have to use our geographical isolation as our ADVANTAGE not a disadvantage, Look at what we can be strong at and work damn hard at it and it will begin to bear fruit.
The Rugby are better suited locally because they have the talent to pick up local lads who can compete in the leagues they play in, BAFC are hamstrung player recruitment wise, but what steps have the club done to rectify this over the years .........sadly so very little its almost criminal.
Barrovians/S Cumbrians/Westmorland &W Cumbrians to my knowledge don't carry a gene that prevents them from being BSP or Conf Prem footballers, servere lack of quality training = servere lack of quality footballers.
The Rugby benefits by having ex-international RL players coaching the local youth, Thus they end up surplying enough quality RL players who go on to SL clubs or Barrow RL
Can BAFC do this ? why not I say ? The usual cry of "we can not afford to do it" will ring out but they can not afford Not to do it should be the reality.
Several years back local kids won both the U12 & U14 Lancs cups which was a huge achievement under the circumstances, Furness Rovers produce a steady stream of really talented youth players as do others but this is where it ends as there is nothing in place to take these kids to the next level, BAFC should fill this void but don't, yes occasionally they half heartedly play at it and it dies a slow painful death, Big mistake.
I well remember attending a few end of season award nights over the years were the 1st team players usually found it funny to publically cat call & mock any Reserve team player when they got announced with their own awards and the club seemed happy enough not to put a stop to this club harming behaviour & to me this sums up BAFC over the years (ie) the 1st team is the be all and end all, structure & behind the scenes is nothing, so we go from crisis after crisis with the odd decent season every several yrs, Until we totally reassess everything we will carry on struggling until one day not enough people will care enough to save them........Rant Over.

At least Mad Russell can hold on to a lead easier than BAFC

Re: Bayliss - This weeks rhetoric
I think its time for a change of board mr keen has done alot for the club and we are grateful but i think its time him and others step down as they are not the people to take us forward i just dont get how clubs such as tamworth,,southport, gateshead among others can sustain a team at this level with smaller average crowds than us whats any different now to when we won promotion 5 years ago i know the crowds have dropped but there is about 8 teams with lower gates then us,id give mr bayliss till october to try and turn things around as his record since shez left is poor and he should be under critisism.

If you didn't take great delight with your posts including OTT statements such as 'financial meltdown' then you may not be seen so negatively.Reg wrote:So I'll ask you, what would you do right now to i)ensure we avoid relegation this year and ii)avoid financial meltdown?.
Financially we were in a lot worse state in the Turnbull years than what we are now.
After the Wembley appearance the club had money in the bank and even after the last 2 seasons and this season I don't think we'll have same level of debts we had in 2004/5 when we were in trouble and we also have much more income now. Your posts seem to take great delight in telling everyone how bad a situation we are in when we've been in far worse situations previously.
I admit things aren't great but your twitter posts also don't help matters and you show no interest in trying to promote ways to improve things at the club, its little wonder you're seen as negative.

How do you know I take great delight? Are you sat next to me as I beam broadly before pressing 'submit'?

Exactly, I thought Chris and Dave made some very good points and yet Andy Wood totally ignored the most obvious questions they and the rest of us wanted answering.barrowfan wrote:Just been listening to his usual drivel on RC.
Before he came on Andy Wood and some callers were questioning why Bayliss only played one up front. So why wasn't Bayliss challenged about it? It was the one question that wasn't asked!
Dave made a very good points about us not having any confidence and resorting back to the tactics of early last season and that there are no teams in this league we should fear, yet we set ourselves up far too defensively and it invites teams to come and have a go at us. We need to stop being so negative and play 4-4-2 especially at home.

Re: Bayliss - This weeks rhetoric
I don't think its even a case of having to revert to 4-4-2. Yesterday's formation could have been more threatening if the wingers had been more advanced, if Baker had been bombing forward (as he did very well last season) and supporting Boyesy through the middle. The players need to take responsibility just as much as Bayliss, imo.

The longer we stay in it, the more damage it will do.
We got 800 fans in today. Even if we some how manage to miraculously average 1000 for the season, how much money will we lose if we keep the current squad at the club?
It's pretty simple economics.
Are you Tony Keen in disquise?

Re: Bayliss - This weeks rhetoric
Get behind Bayliss and the lads, its his first season without Sheridan so give him time. We have started well and faded towards the end in recent years, but a bad start is something to improve on, I wasn't at Saturday's game, however 2 bad results doesn't mean Bayliss should go. He wants the club to do well. So forget the money, or if you're complaining about the lack of money go to more home games and help increase the attendances!
Bayliss deserves a proper chance!

Exactly right mike,I wish this lot would just get off his back and give the man a chance.Just four games in and they are pulling him to bits-its bloody disgraceful.

This may be only 4 games this season but is a continuation of the very poor performances of last season which makes it so unbearable and DB must be responsible for that.mally wrote:Exactly right mike,I wish this lot would just get off his back and give the man a chance.Just four games in and they are pulling him to bits-its bloody disgraceful.

I thought what chris and dave said on the radio was spot on.Richard Ingham wrote:Exactly, I thought Chris and Dave made some very good points and yet Andy Wood totally ignored the most obvious questions they and the rest of us wanted answering.barrowfan wrote:Just been listening to his usual drivel on RC.

We also play the victim at Barrow and sometimes we love it.. we don't have any money, players don't want to come to barrow, the referee hates us, we will get relegated and go bust. There is so much negetive energy at Barrow afc right now.
We can compete in this league - but we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and just get on with it.. make the best use of the resources we have - get out into the local community and engage - use the fans to promote the club and use volunteers - talk up the club - get companies on board and involved - set up a marketing committee or group to help promote the club - stop being scared and stop feeling sorry for yourself doing this actually turns more off than it does on.
what was all that crap at the end of last week - we are going to have trouble fielding a team because we have an injury crisis then the same team turn out - what is that all about - does that fill anyone with hope and excitement for the game.
