Re: game on ????
It's minus 2 where i live but thats a fair few miles from Barrow - but ive just been out on the field near me ( i go out flashing on a friday night) and the local field was firm but not frozen hard or anything.
Think the statement from the club did say it was still frozen in places at lunchtime today but it was probably fully thawed out by teatime and i thought these covers protect upto minus 4?
Hopefully it will be on

Re: game on ????
Its raining now
Re: game on ????
For anyone that reads this in the morning... it is 3am and we still have light rain as reported by HennysKnee. Yesterday (Friday) at midday I broke the ice on the bird bath in the garden and it has not refrozen so temperatures are holding up. I've not got a temperature gauge but it does not feel anywhere near freezing.
Met office reports 6°C at 6am this morning, dropping to about 3°C about 9am when the cloud breaks and rising to 4°C over the course of the day. It should drop to 2°C by 6pm just after the match as we have clear skies forecast all day. So a very cold day ahead but the cloud cover right now is giving us a mild night which will probably save the day.
With the pitch inspection expected at 9:30am before Macclesfield set of at 10am, I think we should be okay as long as it stays a few degrees above freezing.

Re: game on ????
Has been raining during the night.
Temperature 1.5 degrees with a thin layer of ice on top of the car at the moment.
I live by the ground, so it depends how bad the frost was in the ground on the pop side.
We had these conditions last season were, we had a beautiful Saturday yet the game was still called off because that side of the pitch was frozen.
Fingers crossed........

Had to go out in the car at 11.30 - 12 last night and no signs of frosting. There was cloud cover and as some have said rain so the game will be on.
Popular side since '03.

Re: game on ????
my mum lives very close to the ground and has been monitoring the situation closely and says there has been no ice on any cars where she lives and her pussy has been out all night so it can't have been that cold.
