I disagree with the ratter Owen in there, he does yr dirty work, the bit a manager loves that goes unnoticed by many!! He wins it n lays it off for baker to start an attack...... Keep it simple n bear with me, Dave any questions uve got my number. I need Ruthers n Louis to start attacking the bye line n getting crosses in n stop cuttin in on the other foot it's SO predictable la

Throughout footballing history every successful team has had a midfield general who gets stuck in, puts the woolies up the opposition with bone crunching tackles and is able to rule the park. I know YJO is a still a young lad but when he plays, you do notice a big difference. Im not sure about Bakers abilities as he is too indifferent each game? If anything, come January I would be looking at someone to fight for his position! No back four can carry on like what we are and need the help of the lads in front of them! I agree that we need to play 442 at home but only if the wingers are capable of delivering a cross or two as well as tracking back and helping the defence. So, for xmas I would like a midfielder who has the ability to lay off a decent ball, preferably forwards and not back! I would also like Ruthers to think [SwearFilter] it abd just cross as many balls as poss as Im sure 1 in 10 crosses might just do the damage and finally I would like to see YJO in the team more often (if he is fit>)

Almost a new year now so lets have a decent game on Tuesday and look forward to twenty 13!

More balls in the box with make more chances. Simple logic. Look at stoke.
We miss a player like cook who will win headers in the box and will get stuck in. Boyes does but is a different type of player.

I dont think we have 2 midfieldets that could play together in a 442 and control a game ,always needs to be a 3 IMO.
Baker and owen would be a terrible pairing i think

Yes Baker & Owen have definitely worked well together in a central midfield 'two' in the past - including the Rotherham match. But...if Baker wasn't completely 'at the races' (which unfortunately seems to happen more often than not) we would be overrun. Right now I also doubt that YJO has the match fitness to play 90 minutes - especially in a 'two'.

Just my opinion
You saw them then and they were good. I watched them at FGR away( i think it was)and they were dreadfull.
Not saying there poor players
I just think we need to play 3 central players to be able to control games

I'd ditch the wingers for a start. This will stop us playing it across the park and forcing us to be more direct- get it forward as quick as we can. Everything going through Obi or Baker in a free role behind the front two. I also think we'd also win more free kicks in advanced positions playing this way.

--------------------Pearson---------------------
Flynn-------Hessey----Anderson------Skelton-
----------Hunter---Owen--Harvey--------
---------------------Anouro (or Baker)----------------
----------------Boyes--Almond-- (or Jackson)----------
