Re: Macclesfield match thread
I just think not entertaining the possibility (especially at a club where this has happened before, correct me if I'm wrong?) makes you look at best nieve and at worst complicit.
Remind me when this has happened before??

Come on there's been at least a couple of times at 'big' games where there has been incidents. Albeit isolated.mightywhite wrote:I just think not entertaining the possibility (especially at a club where this has happened before, correct me if I'm wrong?) makes you look at best nieve and at worst complicit.

Tend to agree with Steeley on this, we do attract the odd muppet at these sort of games.
IF he heard what he calaims to have heard, and it is a comment that has been recently well publisised over the Chelsea/Clattenburg debacle, to me smacks of a cocky teenager in front of his mates trying to look clever.
For a league ref Webb was one of the worst we've seen here for a good while (and we've had some shockers!). He lost the plot and seemed overwhelmed by the occasion giving so many odd decisions it was beyond belief at times. In the incident where Flynn (I think) was decked in the box - if he's seen teh incident, as he must have done because he showed a yellow card, suerly that should have been a red?
As for King's suggestion they were the only side playing football - I choked on my cornflakes when I read that, Kissock apart, all Macc looked to do was lump long balls forward - and they didn't do that very well either!
Saw nothing from them which means we can't get a result at their place.

Re: Macclesfield match thread
Somebody on the NWEM website is now claiming that the word ‘numpty’ was shouted at Brown on Tuesday night, so understandably that could have been misheard. I’m glad some Macc fans have posted on here with a bit of common sense and for the record I can assure them that racism is definitely not tolerated at Holker St and I go there every game.
However, a lone moronic attendee to any game can certainly put the cat among the pigeons nowadays as happened at Chelsea recently. What’s gone by the by is the fact that it was a great game on Tuesday, one of the best of the season – highly competitive and exciting with all 22 players deserving great credit for that.

Amen to that! Was a crackerjack game for all different sorts of reasons - I had a reluctant floater with me and even he agreed it was entertaining!!Wintergreen wrote:Somebody on the NWEM website is now claiming that the word ‘numpty’ was shouted at Brown on Tuesday night, so understandably that could have been misheard. Certainly, listening to radio C, they frequently commented that Macc were simply missing out midfield and not giving Makreth any service, so perhaps that's his idea of football!K_BFC wrote:"We've had to deal with a lot of long balls, and I think we were the only side playing football"![]()

Can't stop laughing, I am having deja-vu. Are we playing Rotherham again? Another deluded manager believing his team were the best, head in the clouds as to what just happened. Maybe he is distracted with other alleged events, as well.
No wonder he is under pressure from the Macc fans, hasn't a clue. Wonder what their traveling support think of his comments?

Re: Macclesfield match thread
The furore around this whole racism thing has obviously overshadowed what was easily our best performance of the season that I have seen. As has been said when we get a big crowd in we get a nice garnish of nobhead to go with what is the cream of Barrow support and that is something we've had to live with for a while. It won't change I don't imagine. I personally think whatever has happened tarnishing us all as racist is way off the mark. We are a great club with great fans and the odd big game simpleton. That's the same the length and breadth of the country. Racism is wrong and to be honest a bit lacking in imagination. If he's a c**t call him a c**t! The colour of a persons skin is irrelevant. It's socially acceptable to deem us 'Northern Monkeys' 'Inbreds' and 'Sheep Shaggers' so we get our fair share too.
As for the game (which is getting lost in all this) we were outstanding and if we play like that the rest of the season we will not only be fine but my pledge to the BDF goes through the roof! Macc, you were shite and didn't even look like you knew each other. Lucky as hell to still be in this years FA Cup. As for our ex-players; what anyone sees in Kissock is beyond me. One trick pony at best and as for Mackreth, we counted his touches of the ball to a total of... 6. Think we got shot of him at the right time cause in this league he's been found out. Or maybe his Dad told him to play bad, unsure.
Seriously hope we can sneak the replay cause we deserve to be in round three.

What a shame all this is.
Not to belittle anything but thousands upon thousands watch Barrow, season after season, home and away, and all this furore just because one dipstick might have said something moronic.

All good until
"Our fans have generally been superb in this regard and have if anything displayed positive racial discrimination, with any black players at the club being hero-worshipped whatever their ability in the team."
What a bizarre statement...
