Er...........
I used to be known as awayfromhome on the old forum but decided I should be up front about my outrageous posts.

Don't think its fair to be naming people without their consent to be honest, its not what people sign up for when they join the forum.
People posting under user names rather than real names is part and parcel of football forums, not everyone wants to post under their real names. If people are happy to name themselves fair enough, but I think its dodgy ground when you start naming others who may not want naming.

Very much +1 and I probably shouldn't have alluded to having a fair idea of who someone was yesterday because I was irritated.Kieran wrote:Don't think its fair to be naming people without their consent to be honest, its not what people sign up for when they join the forum.

Re: The Out a Pseudonym Thread
That's a fair enough point Kieran. I can certainly understand that it might not be the best idea to name people without their consent. On the other hand, because I am a nosey [SwearFilter], I don't like people purposely hiding behind user names when they are stirring the shit.Kieran wrote:Don't think its fair to be naming people without their consent to be honest, its not what people sign up for when they join the forum.

If they don't want to admit to using works time for posting then I guess that is understandable but I can't think of another reason for withholding the info (other than just being a sneaky [SwearFilter]).

+2!
Seems very much 'grassing' in a way that some people can't handle the realm of the internet and are now appealing for personal information.

Re: The Out a Pseudonym Thread
Hi I’m Gary Lynch, I’m 56½, I live in Barrow and was on the pitch after we clinched promotion to Div 3 back in 1967.
I’m also known as Wintergreen and of course resident arts connosser E.J. Wintergreen 56½. The original poster forced me 'out' before on here some time ago as he has a problem with usernames which he thinks people ‘hide’ behind. I only adopted a username to fit in when I first discovered the Unofficial Forum.
That same night after I was forced ‘out’ a Director of the club contacted me at home and we had a bit of a heated discussion regarding some comments I had posted. The incident and subsequent fallout was well documented at that time. So maybe the original poster has been asked to force someone else’s details out so that they too can get a call from a Director regarding comments made on here.
