Re: Ground maintenance area
That's appreciated Mike but it's easy(ish) organising thing's but without other's doing their bit it wouldn't have happened, it's the same as Reg's betting syndicate, Adam's football forecast's, Konaldo's pledge fund raiser & Ste's money raiser for the forum & short sponsorship last year - you need people to back you up & that's what happens time & time again on here.Mike Wilson wrote:Well done all especially (So1990)
There are so many people who have helped out & donated it makes it all worthwhile.
I've just been down there today with two lecy's (I'll give names if they're happy with it later) & they'll be connceting everything up in two weeks, that's all the bigger job's sorted then we can get down to the serious stuff of tidying & maintaining the ground.
Dave Ryder was also there & he's pointed out a few job's that need doing, two electrical job's which our spark said he'd sort after the maintenance area is completed. The other is one that Lancaster Branch pointed out to me which is the collapsed ceiling in the upstairs gent's toilets. I've shown Dave Ryder it & we're ok to try & sort something for that so, do we have anyone who could replace a 3' x 3' section of plaster board in a ceiling? doesn't have to be a fantastic job but just something that'd look better than a hole.

Has the leak in the roof been fixed what caused the hole?

Re: Ground maintenance area
There appears to be many leaks in the roof which seems to be causing problems in various places throughout the building.mrsenario wrote:Has the leak in the roof been fixed what caused the hole?
I went & had a look at the hole & it was dry - no sign of any recent leaks (well apart from where you would normally leak in the gents)
The other area is in the corridor by the corporate rooms which looks like it could collapse at any time, this is where we need someone who know's what they are doing - anyone??? c'mon we need help here, if you can't do it, do you know of someone who could help out.
I think it'll be a case of patching things up wherever we can because the other solution is sorting the roof out all together which is obviously a non starter.
If you haven't filled a volunteer form out but would still like to help us, could you either reply on here or PM me with any skills you might have or if you just want to help out in any way you can - it really would be a massive help.

Re: Ground maintenance area
The concreting of the main area is now finished thanks to Schofield construction. There are other area's both small & the same as the main one that in an ideal world would be concreted but as we don't have money for that I'm happy to leave them alone for now or perhaps level it off with a plywood base sometime in the future.Barrowabc wrote:I'm not sure at what what point your at with the floor but I have a mixer and would do the concrete for you. The block paving could be useful. Perhaps you could pop down next time we're down there (could be this Friday afternoon) I'll either PM you or if you could PM me your phone number I'll get in touch & sort something out with you.
Thanks for the offers anyway.

Re: Ground maintenance area
A big thank you to Louie Richards of In Line-Gutteringwho came to the club straight away today to sort out the leak on the roof which was causing the alarm to go off. You are an unsung hero Louie for the time you give to sorting things out.

Not needed at all, no point in trying to save them money & taking it off them through the turnstiles.ant wrote:Hope the club are looking after you lads with a few free tickets for all your hard work.
I'm actually quite enjoying it especially seeing it progress as it is now, not too sure about the missus as the earache starts to take it's toll after so long

Re: Ground maintenance area
We'll be at the ground this Sunday doing the very important electrical work & some other shit's & bit's in the maintenance area.
I asked on here about two weeks ago if anyone is a bit of a handyman & could take a little bit of ceiling down in the gents toilets in the cross bar & replace it with some plaster board but we've had no takers so far. Could anyone spare a little time on Sunday & help us out with this?
If we can't get anyone I'll be forced to have a shot at it myself! I can contribute to building subs but I aint no "Homes under the hammer" or "DIY SOS" type bloke.
This'll be one of the first visible type jobs we've been asked to do so it'd be nice if we could make it a decent job of it....anyone?

There must be someone who can do a little DIY & help us out here..........what happened to all the volunteers?
Could anyone help out with moving a sink & base unit to the ground on Sunday, it'll be from the Park Rd area so only a mile or so. A small van or estate car would be ideal.
Thanks again to Edmundson electrical & especially Dave Stewart who has supplied a few more bit's & pieces to allow the electrical work to be finished. He, & they have been fantastic with us but Dave must wish his lad (Corner 91 on here) had never put us in touch with him
Please have a think if you could help out with the above or the fundraising off the other maintenance area topic.
