BAFC OFFICIAL WEBSITE: Barrow's FA Trophy trip to Gateshead has again been postponed due to snow on an already waterlogged pitch.

The International Stadium pitch has been plagued by drainage problems and was underwater over most of the surface when postponed by match referee Peter Bankes at 1pm on Saturday.

The game will now be rescheduled for Tuesday January 22nd. Gateshead are looking for an alternative venue as they fear their pitch will still not be playable by then. Barrow have offered to stage the tie, but this is obviously not preferable to Gateshead.

Discussion will now take place with the FA regarding potential replay dates and the potential effect on the Quarter-Finals.

Barrow's Conference game versus Stockport is now postponed. Should Barrow lose to Gateshead next Tuesday, Stockport will visit Barrow on Saturday January 26th.

Interesting, because according to Stockport's site their game at Gateshead has been brought forward to Saturday, January 26th from Tuesday, 29th - so they're solving their fixture problem by playing 2 games on the same day. Big club, big squad. http://www.stockportcounty.com/news/art ... 98731.aspx
It all comes 'round again.

Presumably they have made the same offer to Gateshead to play on the Saturday if we were to beat them (Heed).

They perhaps need a -NOT YET on their website :)

Ah yes, of course - they're obviously confident that we'll be otherwise occupied by Gainsborough on that day. Nice.

Hardly, because either ourselves or Gateshead will still be in the FA Trophy. Anyway they've now 'corrected' it to say that they'll be at Barrow on the 26th.

I assume the club will be well compensated if the game is played further away from Gateshead.

From tonight's NWEM:

further rain and snow in the north east has only exasperated the situation.

If the tie was played at HS, would Gateshead be liable for our expenses?

Don't confuse things even more Zak. I just about know that tomorow is Wednesday.
