At least Mad Russell can hold on to a lead easier than BAFC

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Cheers Ian. I think you know what I mean. Well done to all who were there, as it was a pig of a day. Has the value of the ground gone up after your efforts.spirit of 1990 wrote:No problem Graham, hope everythings ok.GTBLUE wrote:Re read it. Not on top of the world at the mo. Sent Ian a pm.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Thank's for that Nigel, the scrap metal is a nice little way of topping the kitty up without pestering people for money so whatever you bring will be thrown in with the decent sized pile we already have.Nigel Bamford wrote:Wish I lived nearer, I'd be down to help in a shot. Anyway, I've got some scrap metal if you can use it. I'm down this Saturday for the Nuneaton game so I'll get it to you somehow. Folks like me just have to support this great initiative in other ways.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Message for Jonty
I got your PM John about cleaning up after match days and I've tried to respond 3 times and it seems to get stuck in my outbox.
I can manage most Sundays after home games and probably all Wednesdays (unless anything unexpected crops up)
Only glad to do my little bit to pay the club back for all the enjoyment I've had over the years.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Right, next Sunday (24th) will be the next visit to the ground (workwise) we'll be there from 9:00 till noon if anyone's interested, hopefully plenty.....if I can make it when I'm going to have a hangover from hell, anyone can.
Job's for all sort's of people, skilled or un-skilled, young or old, male or female.
Neil (our spark) fixed a faulty breaker switch today in the MA so the power is now back on to all our sockets - big job sorted.
We need to sort brackets for the light's to hang off.
Finish the flooring in the next bay so we can put shelving up & the tool cabinet's in there.
Take another load of scrap to the weigh-in spot, so we're looking for a trailer or better still a flat back van.
Work to do on some turnstile's.
A broken window in the cross bar need's replacing with one we already have in the MA so we could do with someone to do that. The window is only about 3' x 2' & is in the corridor that leads to the corporate rooms so if we can fix that it'll help improve the look of the interior slightly.
The old grass cutting tractor need's to be took apart for scrapping so only spanner's hammers & hacksaw's needed (we've got all them) just need someone to attack it!
The whole area by the stewards cabin needs a massive tidy up as it's basically a tip at the moment.
Plenty of work for anyone that can help out, this again is all weather dependent.
If you can help out you can either drop me a PM or better still reply on here. There were plenty of suggestions on Mrs senorita's topic the other day so how about a few of the suggestee's (dunno whether that's a word or not
) popping down?

Re: Re: Ground maintenance area
Surely the stewards should do that, considering it's there mess, and they get paid to be there on match days...spirit of 1990 wrote:the whole area by the stewards cabin needs a massive tidy up as it's basically a tip at the moment.
