Did Woking even managed to record a shot ON target?

He has struggled to shake it off, but should be back in training on Thursday.
He doubt's however that he will be fit enough to be considered for Saturday's game at Lincoln.
Lot of conspiracy theorists will feel let down now!!

Back to the real world.....Much better performance than Saturday, with some decent football at times, the first goal was very well taken by Danny Rowe (my MOTM)
Ruthers had one of his better games but still wish he'd run at defenders more & unleash the odd shot or even run into the area, which he seems reluctant to do.
Boyes, D L Rowe & Baker had good games although Richie seemed to fade as the game went on.
Absolutely cracking free kick off D L Rowe, strode up to that with a great deal of confidence, we were wondering why Baker wasn't taking it at the time....think we know why now.
Sodje & Peo looked pretty comfortable & got to admit I didn't feel too many heart stopping moments.
The negative (apart from the attendance) was we started to sit deep again after the second goal which was even more surprising after what happened on Saturday & especially with them going down to ten men....can't quite get my head around our tactics at times.

All set up nicely for Saturday now.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Right, time to [SwearFilter] this tinpot league.

The win is great, 3 points on the board is fantastic and breaking that hideous losing streak was vital. 3 losses in a row isn't that bad, but the way we lost them was an issue.

Time to draw a line under the last couple of weeks and look to the rest of the season. Particularly, it's time to get off the players backs: they've under-performed, they know it and we know it, and there's nothing to be gained from continued criticism. At risk of sounding like a happy clapper, let's get behind them. If you're going to be hostile, direct it at the opposition and see if maybe Holker St can be as intimidating for the visiting team as it was for the Luton match, and much of the last few seasons.

Well i critisised on saturday, so im going to praise tonight. That first half was the best first half of football ive seen (or can remember) this season, we were brilliant; i cant remember them getting out of their own half. Boyes was......well boyes - mr consistancy. Danny Rowe (11) was outstanding one of the best individual performances ive seen (boyes aside) this season he was fantastic, alex ray-harvey (who was appalling saturday) controlled the game and it was clear to see that he is a passer not a tackler and so i worry his talents with the ball at his feet will be lost in the rough and tumble of the lower leagues but ultimatly it was good to watch. Baker put in a good display but tired and even ruthers who still insists on cutting inside on his left had a good game - i do believe he has real talent and i think a rutherford on form will be crucial to us.

Im a happy chap tonight but theres such a long way to go, i hope that this is the beginning of a good run, game by game, half by half we need to win the battles like we did tonight, win all the 2nd balls and the 50/50's ultimatly very pleased tonight...ROLL ON SATURDAY :flag:
And on the 7th day god created football

We played a lot better tonight. Solid performance and much needed three points. That tackle on Rutherford was a bad one. Woking Manager will not be impressed with that or his teams performance tonight. Hope Ruthers is ok. Thought Hunter put in a decent perfromance at Right Back and Ruthers / Rowe had good games onteh wings. First goal was a good move and a great pass from Harvey to set Rowe up.

Relieved. One game at a time- Come on Barrow, we can do this.

Re the tackle on Ruthers, I heard on R C that the Woking boss apologised to Bayliss, Hoskins and Ruthers. Full marks for that.

I don’t think we have played too badly at all this season and have actually played some quite good football. It has just been this business of shipping goals at set pieces that has undone us over a period of two months. Maybe Sodje is the answer to that problem as he seems capable, quite vocal and has more experience than anyone else currently playing in the BSP.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Good to watch last night with every player chipping in. Danny M Rowe, Baker and Sodge stood out for me. We dropped deep again something we will have to stop doing but overall a very good win. Hunter is not a right fullback imo but fair play he is helping out there. Roll on saturday.

On Saturday Rowe and Baker clearly had a disagreement about who should take the free kick that eventually Baker put over the bar at the HS end. What might have been.......

Looking at the table its even more annoying that we didn't hold on last Saturday, great win last night but we need to build on it now and get at least a draw from Lincoln

That was a lot better last night, even though (as Spirit of 1990 says) it is inexplicable why we would choose to sit back after our second goal and let the oppo come at us. We have seen many times that we cannot afford to play that game but fortunately Woking were entirely impotent.

The endeavour in the midfield was one of the key factors last night (at least till the last half hour). Both Baker and Harvey were almost invisible on Saturday against Nuneaton but Baker was back to form last night and, to be fair, over the whole season he has been one of the few to regularly perform well. Harvey is the one I cast a focus on; so far this season he is winning my award for “biggest disappointment of the season”. Before people think I may be being too critical let me say that that is meant as a back-handed compliment; I think this lad has a lot of talent and last night he showed his quality so it is immensely frustrating that he has gone missing in so many matches. I guess he is young and I can only hope he continues to develop because the ability is glaringly obvious at times, if only too infrequently.

Danny Rowe once again showed that on form he has dazzling footwork and a willingness to run at opponents and I cannot understand some posters on here who have said he is “not a footballer”. Danny L. Rowe also shows some class; I do like the fact that when he gathers the ball he is always looking around to pick out a pass instead of chancing a flick-on or a hopeful ball into space.

Harvey had a terrific game, full of bite and aggression. I wonder what might happen when a speedy winger really takes him on but perhaps I don’t want to wonder about that too much.

We did well last night but the mark of a half-decent team is that they don’t rest on their laurels, putting in 1-0 wins against the Lutons and then following it up with 8-1 and 5-2 thrashings. That’s no use and will only see us down. We need a bit more consistency so I would say to the lads just show that level of endeavour and work-rate again on Saturday - - - and in the match after that and the one after that and the one after that and the one after that - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 15 more times in fact .

Re my post above , apologies, should have said "HUNTER" instead of "Harvey" when worrying about the speedy wingers taking him on!

missed the game last night as i work shifts but listened on the radio, but well done to the team and the few hardcore supporters who turned up to watch. just hope we can keep winning and start increasing the crowds for the run in to the season end.
