Terrible performance, don't agree with those who say we were OK first half. Thought we were very poor throughout, Stockport looked bloody awful first half but we are just completely incapable of converting possession into chances and goals. Incredibly frustrating night.

Danny L Rowe is a lazy [SwearFilter].

Here's the first then...they weren't anything special, they were shit

Nope, we were just more shit than them.

Don't know what Cassidy was on about as I thought Sodje had as good a game as anyone (which is no ringing endorsement) he attacked & won a lot of headers & was quite often in the right place at the right time.
Harvey was originally at fault for the first by giving the ball away when under no pressure whatsoever, couldn't really see how well or badly Hurst handled the resulting attack - same with the second as I was at the other end of the ground.
D L Rowe was poor tonight & I thought looked pretty uninterested.
We lost any momentum we had (which was running out rapidly as the second half wore on) when D M Rowe had to go off, the physio was straight over to him in the dug out so hope thats not too bad an injury as he has come on leaps & bounds recently.

Best of luck to the sponsors or the EM trying to pick a MOM out of that tonight!

Poor, poor performance & so frustrating.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Shocking. We may have edged first half, but NOBODY looked like grabbing a goal. The only way we could have scored was from a set piece. Open play chances nowhere to be seen.
Second half - I won't say anything.

How we can win four games, playing like that? We won't. Different ideas needed.

We do not turn up for the really crucial games against the teams we HAVE to beat.
Time and time again this has happened for last 5 seasons.
Is it the players or the management or both but it should have been sorted by now.
Tonight were were never in control enough and displayed all our usual weakness, sorry but cannot see where we are going to get 4 wins from .
Second half display was one of the poorest this season and that includes Mansfield away :(

I've remained positive since the New year but tonight I didn't see enough out there to be confident that we will stay up. We just aren't good enough and I can't see us getting the wins needed to get us out of this. At 2-0 I just looked around at the flat empty atmosphere and just thought another defeat- another low crowd, no money, sadly not enough quality. Then I was thinking on the way home how can the club can win back the hearts of the Barrow community from the league below because tonight we had 810 for a massive relegation battle game. I'm stunned at the lack of support and something has to change. Eveything needs freshening up over summer and if that is from the BSN so be it. Get used to that idea and it doesn't seem that bad. We are struggling now.

We've dropped crucial points against Stockport,Telford,Hyde,Lincoln and Nuneaton this season. We've still got Hyde to play at home but we've not beaten any of them. That probably says it all.

We played a Stockport side tonight that had nothing on their minds except, don't lose. A very physical side that fouled continuously, and with the ref determined not to book anyone he let most of it go, only talking to one of their players at length after he complained about a free kick, after tackling Ruthers from behind. Hoof ball was the order of the day and they hooked and booted it clear by any means they could to protect their keeper. Lots of poor long range efforts clocked up by Stockport making the stats look good on the shot's on goal column. It looked awful and ruined any chance of it being a football match, but you have to hand it to them it worked in terms of the result. It stopped Barrow playing, how many times have Barrow done that to other teams in the past. I do pity the Stockport fans if they have to watch that rubbish week in, week out.

On the other hand Barrow we not very good either, they tried to play their usual game and could not find space as everyone in front of the ball player was being man marked by someone a couple of inches taller than themselves. When there was space in the 1st half they created a few good chances, Baker hit a weak effort harmlessly wide when he should have buried it. EM Rowe hit the inside of the post with the keeper beaten only for it to rebound along the line and just round the other post for goal-kick. Ruthers headed over from a yard and Boyes was fouled in the box, but his decision to try and stay on his feet for a few more steps did not win him a spot kick. It worked for Wrexham (the other season), but not Barrow.

2nd half was dire, the Stockport keeper could have gone for a drink in the bar and come out to collect the few balls that made it forward. Not one chance of note, we got the ball in the box only for them to boot it clear. Then the mistake came and the defence stood appealing for offside and their lad ran through and stopped the ball from going out, he finished well given the tight angle can't blame Hurst for that goal before anyone could get back and tackle him. What happened for the 2nd I'm not sure. An effort from the right corner of the box across goal should have been saved only for it to skip up and over Hurst as he went down to save it. He managed to get a hand to it as it went over him but all it did was land at the feet of a Stockport player who under pressure eventually tapped it in. Absolute disaster, heads had dipped when the 1st went in, they dipped even further with the 2nd. The game opened up a bit as Stockport got a bit sloppy but Barrow still failed to pull the trigger even though they put themselves in good scoring positions. The few shots Barrow had were blocked at source by a defender after the players took too long to shoot.

I think it was a big mistake to put an unfit Boyes on the pitch tonight, some on the terrace having a go at him when he did not run after the ball late on in the game. He did not look sharp and was unable to close down well and win back the ball after losing it, something he does well when fit. You can not expect a player with a leg injury to be out for a couple of weeks to suddenly turn it on in such an important game. What ever happened to the idea of not changing a side that is doing well. It was a gamble that could have gone wither way I suppose but it did not pay off.

What is it with Barrow? String a few good results together get in a position to make real progress and then blow it. The Nuneaton result killed crowds after some very good results and tonight will likely do the same, I heard more than one say they will not be back till next season.

EDIT: Current form is Win, Draw, Lose, Win, Draw, Lose... so we should Win at Hereford, Draw at Dartford and Lose again at home to Ebbsfleet.

After tonights dreadfull performance I have been looking at the fixtures left of the teams most likely to be contesting the last two relegation places to see if we could get out of this mess we are in. We have by far the most difficult of the four teams remaining fixtures with Nuneaton by far the easiest
Lincoln 9 matches left including 3 against teams in bottom 7 and 1 against teams in top 7 and 5 against mid table teams
Hyde 9 " 3 " 1 " 5 "
Barrow 10 " 2 " 3 " 6 "
Nuneaton 11 " 5 " 3 " 3 "

On paper not a cat in hell's chance, but matches are never won on paper and miracles do sometimes happen!!!!

We weren't good enough and tonight in my eyes has ended any brief hope of safety.

Too much tippy tappy football, we are not arsenal or Barcelona so why on earth do we try to play like that???

Try shooting for Christ sake, at least make the keeper sweat!!!

1st goal why on earth did we just stand still and let the lad run from the edge of the area to pick the all up, he won't score an easier 2 goals in his entire career!!!!

I echo all sentiments, Danny l Rowe, laziest footballer I have seen!!!

So disappointing after the last couple of weeks, hate football

Sadly couldn't make game tonight but listened on radio in work. Our Stats this season unfortunately reveal all our short comings all over the pitch.Goals scored(not enough)goals conceded(lots).Corners.(lack of)Off sides(not many.) Yellow/red cards.(low) Almost all categories place us very poorly. You may say not many bookings makes us a clean side.Well to me it shows a lack of fight and tenacity.Off sides not nearly as many as other sides in this league.Does that make us clever? IMO its just another category that says the team has lacked adventure and awareness...and so on and so on.Can we escape? Yes because football is so unpredictable.Keeping the faith...just! ;)
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4 :skill:

Well that was utter dross last night we cant keep relying on other teams to pull us out of this mess as we saw it does not happen . To many of our players are just going through the motions rutherford was awful he never beat his man once and kept going down the same cul-de-sac time and time again ,but he wasnt the only one i dont think any of our players were worth more than 4/10. Why dont we shoot more we try to run it in all the time but then again when we shoot they are like pass backs.Danny l rowe was not interested he didnt jump to win any headers .you could tell from the first whistle we were the ones under pressure to win and my god did it show ,we are not good enough and ime afraid on those performances we will go down but i will keep going till the end

I'm always positive and have said from word go 'we'll be safe, and stay up' after last night I am not so sure we are shocking and our management is poor at best. If I was a player and dave DB treated me like that I would knock him out,his man-management skills are nil we leave top players to rot when still getting paid by the club 'why' ? Time for a change after what I was told and seen last night BSN here we come. Will keep coming and wasting my money which is tight as with everything else nowadays 'GUTTED' and very peed off :UB:
