I didnt acutually mention any individual players by name in my previous post, however as you raise it, I agree DL Rowe joined us direct from Fleetwood, however he did spend a good deal of time at Stockport on loan the previous season.

Anyway, as someone else said, its all water under the bridge now, time to move onwards and hopefully upwards.

Thought you would be interested in an article in our local rag today ( Lincolnshire Echo ).
Gary Simpson ( Lincoln boss ) has earmarked an attacking midfield role for Danny Rowe .
Rowe impressed for Barrow in a goalless draw against the Imps in February but Simpson believes his talents ( ? )
will be better suited to a deeper role.
Simpson quotes .. ' I'm not saying he won't play striker again because he can, but he has good ability on the ball and he's intelligent . I think an attacking midfield role would be very good for him . I obviously watched him for Barrow and he did very well for them ,
he's at the right age ,he's a good size and I am looking forward to working with him '.
( I also watched him for Barrow and he was bone idle and not interested.)
Wonder if Simpson has seen something that nobody else has ,or is he in for a big shock when Rowe displays his ' talents '
I think the latter .

Simpson could well be right...or like you suggest, wrong. He didn't want to or struggled to play for Barrow that much was obvious, maybe he will play for LIncoln if he is happy enough with them and the role he is given. He certainly picked some excellent passes when he tried and will likely suit a more midfield role. Problem was we needed an out and out striker, a goal getter to complement Boyes and we played him as such. All we got in return was another target man who simply held up the ball and waited for support, not many goals. Sadly we did not get enough players forward and often enough to allow him to do that. So he just stood their waiting, taking an age to do anything with it, instead of having a shot or taking on the last defender in front of him.

Our history, Lincoln's future. Will they end up in BSN when relegated? ;)

Lincoln

When newport v macc was postponed this season, we decided to go to hereford v barrow on the way back instead, danny rowe, one of simmo's signings was one of the laziest, most useless players I d ever seen.

It seems we aren't the only ones to have that opinion.
