Thanks for the advice guys, and to KHayman I only mentioned violence because some hooligans might get carried away. As I'm only 13 I don't know how I'd do it on my own so that's why I'm asking for your guys' help! All I'm trying to do is get everyone excited in home games.

I admire your enthusiasam. I started to really get into Barrow at a similar age. There hasn't been a hooligan element at Barrow for a while. I don't think you should use the groups name then infer violence is related to them.

Bring a drum, I'm sure plenty of people will get excited by that.

So, you’re asking for advice about hooliganism because you're 13, don’t know how to do it on your own and don’t want to get too carried away? Very sensible young man; well, firstly get organised, research the opposition; if they are arriving by train for example, find out their ETA. Assemble your firm in the DoE one hour before the ETA – wear no colours and drink at least 2, but no more than 4, pints of Warsteiner each. Sporadically mobilise your men in pairs to the ETA and (Cont. 1988).
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

I'm only 13 lol

All I'm trying to do is get you guys to understand we need to cheer on the players a bit more and make the stadiums atmosphere a bit better!

The best way to do it is to lead by example. Get a few mates together and see if people join in.

Having a bunch of lads whose balls haven't dropped yet singing songs and trying to create a sense of hostility might make me cancel some of the holidays I have put in for the forthcoming season.

Banter is funny but dropping insults on me isn't exactly going to get you anywhere is it? Ever since I joined this forum I've tried to be upbeat and tried to fit in but all I get is crap all because of my age?

I'm just pulling your leg fella.

I'm all for encouraging youngsters to come to games. If it were up to me, it wouldn't cost you and your mates a penny to come and support the team.

I hope you manage to convince scores of your mates to come along and that you all stick with it for the long term.

I'm just a grumpy old sod when it comes to stuff like this. I've never been into the whole ultras thing, as the likes of BA and others can testify.

Okay, whatever.

All I'm saying is it doesn't have to be a recreation of Ultras Barrovia. Just something like in the start of the game against Ebsfleet in April when we got the flags up and waved the flags and sang Barrow songs. I really enjoyed that and something like that every game would really spice it up and make the atmosphere a lot better!

I've said it loads of times and I'll say it again.

This kind of thing only works if we're getting something to shout about from the pitch.

The best atmosphere's of recent times came before the Ultras even existed and that was when we got on a roll in our last promotion season.

Most of the time, forced atmosphere's are just naff in my experience. That's not a dig at you, or your age. I've said the same to Steve and others in the past.

You stick at it mate. You seem dead keen & I hope you get some of your friend's interested as well. It makes a change to hear a young lad (or Girl) wanting to support their local team rather than just walk around with a Liverpool or Man Utd top on.

Without youngsters like yourself showing an interest the support for for clubs like us would eventually fade away.

By the way, thirteen year old's can paint as well can't they? Get yourself down the ground on Sunday morning's & burn off some of that excess energy :)
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Well, I've got 3 paper rounds on Sundays so I guess I can't really :(

I've got most of my mates interested in coming since Feb and I'll try to get more mates to come too :D Oh yeah and I'm a lad haha
