For anyone wanting to do a spot of maintenance before the season start's this'll be one of the last chance's before the season start's & there's still plenty to do.

I'm waiting to hear off Klaus Moogintal about painting in the first aid room but think he could be on holiday, If anyone is a half decent painter & can keep more on the walls than the floor & windows we could do with this area finishing off before the season starts.
If you can help out we'll be there from 9:00am tomorrow.

We also need people to put all the old wood & rubbish in the skip.

Paint the remaining perimeter wall.

Start putting signs back up.

Help move the speaker pole by the HSE sign.

Paint the back of the car repair wall on the pop side.

H'mm, very quiet down there this morning.

Elaine was there bright & early cleaning. She also (which I gave her a bollocking for) put a load of plywood & old signs in the skip!! there is no way she should have been carrying that, this is when a couple more people for an hour or so would make all the difference.

Ian (white van joiner) measured up for some flooring we need in the M A which he'll make a start on when I get it ordered.
He also put up the new Skrill signs behind each goal which is where they requested they go.

Graham was in the pop side/HSE corner taking down some more old signs & painting the wall behind. That's nearly finished now but we could do with someone completing it on Tuesday if possible (weather permitting)

Myself & Mrssenorita put all the new admission price baords up & put them in some sort of standardised layout instead on the way they were before.
We also removed one of the bigger signs outside & replaced it with the new sponsors board. We now have a list (finally) of about twenty one signs that need to go back up so far, this is quite time consuming which is why most things will have to stop so we can try & get them up this week (Tuesday evening & Friday afternoon)

Ste Story came down & took some more sizes & pictures of the home changing room so he can crack on with some sort of design for the top half of the wall's.

Really could do with a few more on Tuesday or Friday to help us with the last few shit's & bit's, anyone?????

Ian/Tommy I had to remove all the empty paint tins you threw in the skip as Sinkfall specifically asked that we didn't put those things in the skip. We don't want to alienate them as they are doing a great job of )emptying the skips as soon as Trevor asks them.
I chucked them all in the skip dustbins. Are there any more in the MA as we need to get rid before the season starts and all the bins get filled with match day rubbish.

Hadrian from this forum put in a great shift today. Travelled down from Carlisle and was there early and must have spent 7 hours painting the wall on the popular side. Fantastic effort, which took a lot of patience to spend that long on his own, painting. Many thanks.

Graham Chapman was there again doing sterling work painting the walls by the side of the stand and also the wall by the BDF shop.
Ryan was there (and his trusty bike) sorting and washing the signs ready to be put back on the walls. He was also doing a Rembrandt impersonation with stencils (which he made, like something off Playschool) to redo the Buckingham Place marker.
I hope the weather is fine to continue the outside work as we have been so lucky this summer.

I had to wash seats in the stand as there was bird muck all over quite a few. Cleaning inside the clubhouse is ongoing to have everything ship shape for Saturday and the outside toilets are now done (in case it rains and I won't have to trail around getting soaked).
We are getting there but it needs a good turn out tomorrow night to tidy up the terraces etc. and continue with the painting as there's not much left to do now.

That wall that Hadrian was painting has a serious damp problem but I think the gutter and drainpipe might be blocked and the rain runs down the wall. I am, going to climb a ladder tomorrow and take a look and see what is going on there.

Good to hear Neil. I hope Emma enjoys her day especially after the hard work she has done as a volunteer. The weather had better be nice and sunny too.

Just read the monthly statement on the clubs website and the pictures, fantastic effort everyone (wish I could muck in with you all)
Just a suggestion here.

Would it be an idea to contact all the various local disability groups and include the refurb pictures and invite them down to watch a game in comfort one group at a time x how ever many the area holds, if the bods gave them a discounted group entrance fee and a bit of hospitality it may go a long way to win over some hearts n minds as they enjoy the experience in far better surroundings than were possible previously ?

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but noticed a bad leak from an overflow in the Cross Bar running down the wall close to the entrance. Probably looks worse than it is but it's really unsightly and no I'm not a plumber!!
