I've pretty much been given the go-ahead to let my wife do the phone calls to all the board sponsors earlier today so hopefully she'll make the start on them next week, no guarantee of success but fingers crossed.

There are also three boards going up (off a NEW sponsor) on Monday evening so well done to the people involved behind the scenes for that.
After speaking to the businessman he also wants to meet me on Monday about possibly some form of sponsorship for the GMA - good news as the kitty has been taking a few big hits lately.

Back to the nitty gritty, cleanse your minds of todays debacle with a visit to the ground at 9:00 in the morning :D it'll do you a world of good.

Jobs for all :)

Not a bad morning this morning however most efforts concentrated under the stand in the warmth of the workshop.
The layout of the workshop is being re vamped with larger flooring more cupboard space and benches....After the summer madness its time to put everything away in its place and assess what we need next and how we have grown.
On Friday a few hours spent by Ian and myself marking out new walls for toilet blocks around vaughans car park and the popular side.
This was after directions given from the asset meeting Monday which went very well with clear goals set. The next phase will be Sthill sawing out the footings and removing the rubble ready for concreting. Its hoped to include back to back toilets over by vaughans car park and on the popular side, urinals and hand washing facilities to incorporate the services on the ladies and gents toilets which already exist....this is paramount as the old toilets over there need demolishing soon.
Changing room outfit items continue to be made and are starting to get completed ready for installing. we also are looking at the segregation either fixed or portable and a few ideas and materials coming to fruition.

Pretty much what Mrssenorita has said, just to add my touch though.

Quite a few visitors down there this morning, Exile (who for a change wasn't working) & his very nice & supportive wife, first time I've met her & what a lovely lady she is who also had a few interesting ideas about various things connected to what we're doing.

Gordon & his wife who now live in Holland but have been very good with us regarding plaques (four off him & his business contacts alone)
Gordon & his wife spoke to me about the advertising boards, which we are now going to try & promote, & they've decided to sponsor one (school boy error by me as I think he was going to have another plaque before that discussion, so now the club get the money & the GMA account has missed out  )
Anyway that's a good start by us - one down, fifty to go!

Elaine was there as usual but the weather stopped her doing what she normally does & she then decided then to sit in the GMA & watch us work ;)

Big Al was also rained off, even though he did try & fasten some of the tops of the cladding but beat a hasty retreat back to the safety of the GMA looking like someone had thrown a bucket of water over him.

Gareth & his lad came down to make sure they could gain access tomorrow to be able to cut & mark out the pitch before Tuesdays match.

Even on bad result weekends & bad weather day's, it's still very enjoyable meeting all these people, half of them I didn't even know previously.

Still need another brickie & a plumber.....c'mon, we know your there :)

Hopefully more good news tomorrow :D

Good conversation with a businessman tonight which will hopefully be boosting our kitty by a considerable amount. He was very impressed with all that's been done to the ground lately & would like to invest in what we plan on doing in the coming year. As with Exiles donations earlier in the year, this looks very exciting.
I have to speak with him again tomorrow so we might be able to add some more to the finances he's willing to put in then.

On another plus, (I'll add names if the people are happy for me to do so later) it looks like a supporter has struck a deal with a local company for us to have use of a HI AB to move the ticket office in Vaughans car park to the pop side for the BDF to use as their new pop side mega store :) Hopefully saving us & the BDF quite a wedge along the way.

All in all, a good night for projects around the ground.

I may have missed something over the summer but how have the popular side toilets got even worse?! The drains are full of flaked off paint

There are only so many volunteers!

I think you'll see by this thread the amount of work that's gone on in & around the ground & how much time some people have put in down there, you are of course quite welcome to pop down & help out clear the flaked paint from the drains.

The new toilet block is being planned atm which will be an extension to the two in the corner by the turnstiles, sadly, we're struggling for the basic skills to make a start which are - brickies & plumbers.

The other option is we now pay someone, not ideal.

I'll do that Mike, thanks.

Are you at the game today? might be worth having a chat there.

Can anyone pop down the ground for an hour in the morning to help the scrap man load his van up? I can't make it (well I can but there'd be a divorce in the Spirit household!!) This is the last of the scrap & it won't take long at all, times are pretty flexible (possibly even in the afternoon if it suits you better)

I can show you either at the ground today where the scrap is or very easily explain in a pm.

It'd be a big help for us.

Never went today but had a pm about some scrap so stopped off & shifted that.

Graham was there & he was painting the backboards for the changing room modules, I think he was then going to paint some of the metalwork in the main stand.
As I was setting off big Al was there so he'll have been carrying on with his little projects around the ground.

Got some money off uncle Peter out our account yesterday so we'll be buying a few new tools this week.

Loads of brownie points for jobs done around the house & garden today so we should be back at it next weekend, seven days notice for anyone who can pop down next Sunday.
