I wouldn't have kept him on last season after the rubbish we had to put up with.

Even with a new bunch of players this season, it's the exact same rubbish.

He's taken us as far as he can, and the stats over the last couple of years back that up.

Forget five more games, the time to get someone new in is NOW before we slip even further!

Fans shouting at the manager will lead to one or two abusing the manager, especially the fans who are tanked up. Let the board deal with this situation one way or the other. There are morons that go to Holker Street and regularly use vile language towards Dave Bayliss. I would love to see them stay away from Holker Street for good.

If this is true they should be issued with a warning and told if they are caught doing it again they will be ejected & repeat offenders banned etc

Lets be honest here, DB has raised this issue of abuse aimed at him adversley affecting his family & several times fans who sit in the stand have come on here saying that no one else has heard any of this so called vile abuse, they have stated that they have witnessed some frank exchanges of views but not any vile personal dogs abuse, it does suggest that DB's fragile state of mind can not accept criticism, constructive or otherwise from anybody, players or fans alike, and that his version of events are to be questioned & not blindly accepted.

IMO a sober manager representing & employed by BAFC grabbing fans and lunging at others trying to assault them & then going on the live BBC-RC several minutes later and swearing when he has has time to reflect & regain his composure is many times worse than a popped up fan yelling abuse, especially a manager who is a repeat offender.

Passion runs hot in situations like this, but it works both ways, DB says himself that the fans passion makes it an easier sell to prospective players to play for BAFC.

How can the club promote "family values" or insist on the paying public behaving in a decent non aggressive in and around the ground but accept employee gross misconduct ?

Any fans causing problems in the future will be offered councilling and given multiple chances to work through their emotional issues will they ?

The negetivity and uncertainty around the club and the fact we have fairly inept manager is doing the club more harm than a few people deciding not to go to the game - I won't be there - but I am not Boycotting, I just can't make it. I don't support a boycott whatsoever - but I can also understand people saying I just can't justify and afford spending money watching that crap.

Bayliss may well be a nice man but he is under pressure now and that's part and parcel of football you can't have it both ways.

Yeah,I know what you are saying Mike and I really do agree with you but surely there is only so much a manager in Dave's position can take. I am in no way condoning his actions but surely he should be cut a little slack here. The man really is passionate about the club, maybe to passionate and this could be one of the reasons why he really gets frustrated. We all know expectations are high at Barrow and we don't just want to be another team in this league that are here to make up the numbers-a big fish in a small pond you might say.IMO this is down to the board who, and I know they had to, cut Dave's budget by forty per cent and what were witnessing now is the results of this with the manager not being able to bring in the quality he would have liked to.

got to say mally ive never heard any abuse towards bayliss ever as yet but i do think bayliss out chants are and should be expected its what happens when a manager is not getting the results the man has been lucky as the fans have never turned on him as they have on other managers and pressure is expected in football and has to be handled the right way there is no defending his crap results and aggresive outburts and his threats of violence he dosnt deserve any more chances

For what its worth I dont like to hear personal abuse aimed at anyone and in the nearly two decades iv been going to Holker Street Bayliss stands head and shoulders above any manager so deserves better. Having said that i think he's probably run his course at Barrow and its time for him to move on (for everyones benefit). I just hope everyone can try and salvage some dignity from whats becoming a totally cringeworthy farce
I'll be there tomorrow what ever happens, thats what true fans do.

Fair enough,- but I have heard one or two come out with some really nasty outbursts towards Dave and I'm sorry but that is just not on. Now I know We could be here all night on this subject and, as I say, I am not defending DBs actions but tomorrow night, as sure as its gonna get dark, there will be one or two that will take whatever shape the protest takes too far and make it personal towards Bayliss, so I would like to think that they will be outnumbered by the sensible majority who will urge restraint for the sake of the Club and everyone involved with it, and especially for the Man who is doing his best by his standards labouring under the pressure of expectation that this club creates. Its not as if we are Workington or some other two pence halfpenny club that are happy to bod about in this league forever more, the reality of the situation is that whoever is the manager at Holker St the pressure is on from the word go, so with that in mind, who in their right mind would want the job at Holker Street, with all the pressure that comes with it,and, the budget that Dave Bayliss has to work with.

One of the more sensible comments over the last few days.
Have you ever thought what a wonderful world it would be without enthusiastic people.

Don't get me wrong, I want him gone as much as anyone as I think he's lost it to the point that he isn't capable of turning things around and you simply can't act the way he did yesterday. However, I don't doubt his love for the club and his desperation to do well and I think he still deserves some respect for what he's achieved in the past.

I want him to leave, but I'd prefer he left in a way that allowed us to still remember his time here with fondness overall.

I come on here pretty much every day and never post, but just felt a bit sad about it all to be honest. I like Dave Bayliss, and protesting just doesn't feel right (but we're all entitled to our opinions). Agree with some of the more recent posts on this thread. Can't imagine what it's like having people slagging you off all the time, offensive or not. People who pay their hard-earned cash to attend have a right to their views, and most of it is fairly tame, standard, predictable stuff when a team isn't performing (and hasn't done for a long time). But I still don't know how I'd react as manager if I kept hearing it all the time, especially if my livelihood depended on the job. That must really add to the pressure. Not saying he was right to react like that, because obviously he wasn't, but can understand how the pressure and frustration must have been building so much when he can see how things are going and doesn't seem able to sort it out. I just can't get outraged or offended that he swore to be honest, because I've sworn at people myself (but not on Radio Cumbria). But it's obvious he's not handling all this added pressure now and managers just can't afford to lash out, unless they are top of the league! Or Brian Clough.

The guy cares so much, and has done so much (with or with Sheridan) and I thought it was right to keep him as manager this season, because I don't think sacking managers every season is a great idea - especially when you consider the resources he's had in the conference compared with most other clubs. We were always going to go down eventually. But, for the first time I do think it might be time for a change - as much for his sake as for the club. Don't agree with people who say he should be able to take the abuse, although I'm probably just naive because I suppose that's the life of a football manager, they pretty much all become 'clueless idiots' in the eyes of the fans eventually, unless they get another job - then they're a Judas! Anyway, can't see how he can turn it around now - you do need the fans on your side - too many people against him after the last couple of seasons/the poor start to this one/this weekend (depending on your view), and barring a 20 game winning streak it's not going to change. Really not having a pop at people who are frustrated/disappointed/upset. I've just still got loads of respect for him for all he has given to the club, and how much he cares about Barrow. I really hope he goes on and has a great career but looks like it's coming to an end here. A real shame.
