BoD statement on post-match events at Gainsborough

I don't want to say too much because I don't know anything but I have some thoughts that if put into print might get me into trouble.

I've aired them to folk in person though and nobody has vehemently disagreed.

But it shouldn't be the end of it - if the bod think its acceptable for the manager to swear and offer to fight fans - then I'm torn whether I want to continue to support the club as it is now. This will come back to haunt the club as its only a matter of time before he completely blows his top and punches someone.

This latest episode is going to harm the club in the long run.

As Reg says I think that the board are doing everything they can to keep Bayliss in a job because sacking him would cause them a lot more trouble than keeping him, irrespective of whether its the right thing to do.
Fans have received banning orders for less than what Bayliss has done and the way the board have behaved over this whole sorry saga (Mackay in particular) is sickening, while the way they've treated Chris just shows the level they've reached.
As a token gesture I aint gonna bother going to Saturdays game.

Meechan just said on radio that the fans involved on Saturday met with board tonight and retracted there statements.
Strange that as I'm in East Yorkshire.

What about DB's language on the radio and offering to take on fans?

Not really interested in what Bayliss said on radio as they should have had a delay on like most BBC radio stations have. Don,t tell me Ferguson etc aint used language like that before in" live "after match interviews.Totaly down to BBCRC for airing that.(they got their publicity )What ever we think it probably happens often but is deleted.The football being played is what its about.The rest is all a distraction.

Sums up my feelings , I also wont be going on Saturday due to being treat like a moron by the board and having to watch shite football for nigh on 3 years , the all new improved MrsMaster asked me why do I spend x amount of money taking her to watch "the worlds shittest football team" then "being in a mood about it all night when they play like they always do"

For those taking the moral high ground and saying that people are hurting the club by not going , what other option do people actually have now if they dont agree with how the club is run and how recent events have been handled ?

The official response (or lack thereof) to this, and John Mackay's response in particular sums up the current state of the club for me, I'm not sure they realise just how much damage they've done/are doing with their continued alienation of core fans. I think this investment stuff couldn't have come at a worse time with all the cloak and dagger stuff that seems to be going on, it seems among the support trust and faith in the Keens and the BoD are as low as they've ever been.

So a whole load of fuss, strops, boycott threats etc for nothing then, another typical week in the life of Barrow AFC.

I cannot honestly believe what I am reading/hearing. We have a manager who is basically got the club by the short and curlies because they owe him money, unbelievable. should never have got this far. Every time something goes against the board like this they sweet talk people round to doing nothing about it.

It could only happen at Barrow.

It appears that someone has morals, not wanting to hurt their beloved club any further Chris and Pal have withdrawn their allegations about the incident with Dave Bayliss. Getting him off the hook once more. Well done lads at least you can walk round with your heads held high unlike BOD and manager.

Do the BOD care what damage they are doing? Living a long way from Barrow and only relying on what I read on hear and in the Evening Mail which is sent to me, it seems to be clear that the BOD (at least the Directors with a large financial stake) want out and the only reason they are still here is because they can't get back the money that is owed to them. They will never get that back unless the club gets taken over. Personally, I can't see anybody wanting to take over the club other than for selling the land. I'd be very careful about handing over any rights that would stop that happening if a future sale takes place!

Although the complaint has been withdrawn the allegations still stand and agree that the only one to come out of this with any credit is Chris.

AM went on the Radio saying BOTH fans were at the meeting and BOTH withdrew the complaint, the smoke & mirror's continue with outright lies on the national Radio

Rather than the frustration of a lack of trust in the club to be objective (ie stop acting as judge and jury with selected evidence to suit their preferred outcome as some are suggesting) why not see if the police are interested in a "threatening behaviour" charge?
