GMA funds
I'll start this new topic just for the purpose of highlighting this bit of positive news (amongst all the doom & gloom) I'll then add it to the GMA topic so, Mods please feel free to delete if you want to after the weekend.
The man who wanted three new advertising boards up this week for his company (International Offshore Energy Resources) got speaking to me over last weekend & then wanted to meet up before the game on Tuesday to talk about what we do & potential "sponsorship opportunities"
He's based in Salford but has seen the changes that the volunteers have made to the ground over the summer & wanted to help us out.
Shane Brennan (a local man who has supported BAFC since a kid) then offered me £2,000 to have his company name connected to the ground maintenance volunteers!
A massive boost once again to our kitty which as I've said before is still healthy but been taking a few big hits lately (£300 on tools this week alone)
He also employs forty odd people on the wind farms & has said when they get weathered off he still has to pay them so he's offered to send them to the ground to do whatever jobs we have on the go when the situation arises, another fantastic offer.
It get's better - he also liked the £ for £ that Exile did & has said he'll do the same up to another 2k. If we hit that, that's a possible boost to the funds of six thousand pound's.
I know it's all bad news at the moment but here's a man who likes what we're doing to the ground & as others have done before is willing to put his own money up for us to carry on.
This is another wonderful opportunity for supporters to show what we can do, we're not expecting large amounts like last time (although that would obviously be very nice) but if enough supporters can give a small donation it'll soon add up.
I think uncle Peter will confirm what account to make any donation to shortly, or you can hand it to myself or any of the other volunteers & we'll make sure it gets put in the right account. It needs to eventually find it's way into the correct account as that will be the proof Shane needs to match the £ for £ offer when the time comes.
Please help out if you can, I think you'll agree that the ground looks better for the money raised so far & this will do more of the same.
All monies raised are for ground maintenance only - nothing else.

FANtastic! What a brilliant offer. You need to make sure this guy gets all the advertising opportunities going.

Account details are
15-10-00 sort code
23114065 account number
617483305 reference
Whilst I'm on I'd like to publicly thank Ian for going out of his way to get the boards up at short notice.
Shane emailed me on Friday and after a quick chat decided to take 3 ground boards. Part of the agreement was that he wanted then up before Tuesdays game.
Thanks also to Shane for his kind sponsorship and donations.
Onwards and upwards.

No thanks required Pete but I was assisted very well by the person I seem to see more of than I do of Mrs Spirit at the moment - Mrssenorita.Uncle Peter wrote:Whilst I'm on I'd like to publicly thank Ian for going out of his way to get the boards up at short notice.
Half of these things wouldn't have even got off the ground without him.

Are you going to be available in the near future Neil? I will find out the details about the job I asked you to do on Tuesday if that's ok.

Can ste or someone put a thermometer or target on here like last time so we can see the total rising as donations come in and if we are short theres always a new years day dip looming in borat gear!!!! Gives us all a boost to achieve a target setspirit of 1990 wrote:No thanks required Pete but I was assisted very well by the person I seem to see more of than I do of Mrs Spirit at the moment - Mrssenorita.Uncle Peter wrote:Whilst I'm on I'd like to publicly thank Ian for going out of his way to get the boards up at short notice.
