Re: GMA funds
Much happier topic amidst all the doom, gloom, and infighting. Pats on backs for all involved, hopefully this can help bring us all back together in a positive sense

Re: GMA funds
First confirmed donation today.
A forum member who want's to remain anon can't make the next two home games so he's put £50 into the £ for £ account. He also had a suggestion for the supporters who who are staying away atm - if your insisting on staying away why not make a donation to the fund, your making your point but still doing what you can to help our club.
I'd rather people attend games but as a second choice.........

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Great gesture Shane, thank you sooooooo very much :flag: Community-BAFC is alive & well.
Re: GMA funds
As this has worked out probably better than anyone thought would there be a case for putting a % of these funds into a separate account with a view to eventually raising enough to rebuild the Holker Street end, I for one would agree to a direct debit to be paid monthly into an account that could not be touched till enough has been raised, I know grants are available for work such as this but you have to build first then claim the grant, any thoughts.

Re: GMA funds
2 companies have given the GMA team quotes for a 20 meter centre section behind the goals which can be added to using the Stalybridge Celtic away end model.
These were basic quotes and did not include planning constraints and legislation etc but just fabricate and install. Its not out of reach for us to achieve this then erect a left and right side in say a five-ten year plan if that's what the fans want.
However at this moment in time the club really do need to address the floodlight issue and we are also tackling building a new toilet block on the popular side, 2 jobs which are priority carrying health and safety issues. Its a case of focusing our limited resourse ie time, people and money on what needs doing first.
The last asset meeting we had was probably the best one yet as it give us a clear way forward on what to concentrate on next
Maybe when these to have been addressed then we can move on and get some acoustics back behind that goal as the atmosphere has never been the same since the roof was removed. What has surprised me is why the club haven't got up a scheme for the floodlights under way..
A good start would be winning the FA cup tie next Saturday and getting the £4500 on offer backed by a good vociferous crowd

Re: GMA funds
I personally think at this moment in time it's out of our reach, ok this has gone well but even to start a small first section is a lot of money & can that really be justified at the moment with the floodlight problem looming large on the horizon?popsider wrote:As this has worked out probably better than anyone thought would there be a case for putting a % of these funds into a separate account with a view to eventually raising enough to rebuild the Holker Street end,

At the moment that'd be far better in an account where your money is instantly doubled, if only one exsisted....hang on - 15-10-00 23114065 Ref 617483305
If anyone wants to hand a donation over today, you can do so by giving it to any of the GMA volunteers, or I'm sure Richard or any of the other BDF lads will happily accept your cash for us - just make sure them cheeky chappies know it's for the GMA account or they'll snaffle it for their's
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: GMA funds
Thanks to Shane for this great gesture and cheers to Ian and everyone for continuing the good work.
I couldn't make the Gainsborough game last week due to a bad knee so you can have the £70 I saved on a train fare. I will pay it in at some point over the next few days.

Two confirmed donations then - £120 - doubled = £240 C'mon lets push that up a bit & make Shane sweat a little. It really doesn't have to be 50's or 70's....1 - 5 - 10's will all help the kitty & ultimately the ground.
I'll stick in £20 so we're up to £280.
Anymore?

Cheers Capman.capman wrote:I will put 30 in
That takes it to £340
Exile was feeling flush again (& happy with yesterday's result) so his latest e-mail offered us £100 for the £ for £ offer, so that's £540 now.
Don't stop, keep them offers coming in - any amount will help & will be instantly doubled. If you stand in a group of five at the games, ask each person for a couple of quid & get it thrown in, all them who never went yesterday - donate a fiver, your making your point but still helping the club, if you live out of town & don't make many games, chuck us the price of admission in the kitty.
It's all for the upkeep of the ground & nothing else.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: GMA funds
Another £100 donated from "midland blue" (other than that, anon)
Thank you very much MB.
That's £100 doubled to £200 = £740
Keep them donations coming in, £1 - £5 - £10..........anything, it'll be instantly doubled & help plan for improvements over the coming year or longer.
Sort code 15-10-00
Account number 23114065
Ref 617483305
Or just hand it to me or any other other volunteers tomorrow or even give someone in the BDF shop it, just let them know it's for the GMA kitty or they'll snaffle it.........pinch the eyes out of a dead man that lot
