Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
Good news.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
Never before have I clapped off an opposing player who'd been sent off. Never a penalty (second one) in a million years let alone a red card. Awful, awful decision!
Life is always better when it's better
Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
At 0-0 Ramsbottom had a clear chance against the run of play. When Reynolds misjudged a ball over the top it put Ramsbottom clear through on goal. McMillan coming out got a slight touch but it fell back into the path of the Ramsbottom forward, Reynolds got back and poked it for a corner before the forward scored with an open goal.
First goal came from a throw in that was clearly a Ramsbottom throw-in but the lines man right on top of it flagged in Barrows favour. Very quickly moved to Mills and from the right cut in and went past 2 players before striking it from the edge of the area about the D. It clipped a defender moving in front of him which caused it to loop a little, but the shot stayed on target. Even with a bit of pace taken off it, it still had the keeper beaten.
Second goal was a clear penalty with on out stretched hand blocking off short cross, from inside the area from the right. What was a set up for a clear goal scoring chance was blocked off and the penalty given. Arnison converted calmly.
Third goal looked like a definite penalty to me. Rushton clean through going slightly to the right was tripped from behind by the defender whilst trying to shot. He made clear contact with Rushton to get to the ball, Rushton was taking a swing at the ball to bury it in the back net but ended up in a heap on the floor after the contact. The defender flicked it across the goal and out for what would have been a corner if he had not fouled Rushton. Red card seemed a bit harsh on the lad but it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. Arnison again scored from the spot.
Some other chances... Both Mills and Meechan hit the bar, a Bowen shot saved fell to Rushton had a couple of shots one after the other from less than 10 yards, the keeper got in the way each time and smothered the ball.

Those of us stood behind the goal could see that it was a perfect tackle and was never a penalty.K_BFC wrote:

Next Round 12th October so home game vs Stockport will need to be re-arranged.

if we are drawn away....does this create a 4 week gap without a home game??????????

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
Yes, but we should get a half share of the gate from todays game plus a half share of gate for the Cup game in a few weeks and £4500 for winning today so hopefully that should see us through for not having any home league games.mrsenario wrote:if we are drawn away....does this create a 4 week gap without a home game??????????
For those on the Popular Side who never saw the other banner it read No Truth = No Trust
Gotta agree about the 3rd goal which was never a pen and sending off, as I thought their player knocked the ball away, really harsh on Ramsbottom that. In the lead up to the first goal the liner gave us a throw in that should have been given to them, however even without that we should have won by more than we did with having 2 shots hit the bar and countless others go wide. The main thing is that we are through.
Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
It didn't look like a perfect tackle from side on and obviously from behind where the ref was. I didn't notice if the linesman flagged for it, although a couple of Ramsbottom players were in his face arguing with him. They also missed a very obvious Barrow corner with the ref 10 yards away. Not to mention giving the obvious throw-in that directly led to the first goal. We usually find ourselves on the end of these decisions playing teams from higher divisions, other way round today.Tunnocks wrote:Those of us stood behind the goal could see that it was a perfect tackle and was never a penalty.K_BFC wrote:

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom predictions
Ramsbottom were poor. But you can only beat what's in front of you.
A comfortable victory, would like to of seen Bowen on for Meecham earlier. Back four looked solid. Need a goal scorer up front.
Noticed Boyes not in Gateshead squad today. Grass is not greener on the other side Adam. Money is good, but I would rather be playing.
fans need to get behind the team and club. Time for the stay away fans to return.
The only thing that will change by staying away is NO CLUB !!!!!
