Get over it, some people on here are so touchy. I've already been put right if you read the thread, whatever had gone on before, they were still acting like overgrown kids.Eric Cartman wrote:...yet you still decide to state that they were 'scrapping' on a public forum

Got to agree with Dalton Bluebird. Why carry something on when the poster has virtually admitted he got it wrong? Some people seem to just want to argue for no other reason than having nothing better to do!Dalton Bluebird wrote:Eric Cartman wrote:

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I was impressed about the commitment of the supporters in holding up the banners for the protest. Hopefully we'll see more of this in the next few home games and really show to the board that the supporters aren't happy and we won't give in!

I have sympathy and understanding with the protestors but I simply cannot see how staying away can ever be the answer. I confess I do not know the answers but it seems that staying away can only produce one outcome - - - the end of the club.
I will be staying away until either the board have been removed, or they get their act together and start doing a lot more than they have done over the last 18 months or more.
Pete Garbacz is doing a great job of making the rest of them look like they're trying to turn things around right now but sadly, he's just putting a sticking plaster on a broken neck IMO.
The cover up of the Bayliss incident is nothing short of appalling. Sure, they made a few noises about him being on a warning or whatever but that is just for his radio antics and they have blatantly ignored the more serious aspect of the incident.
In fact, they have worse than ignored it, some have outright lied about it and been allowed to do so. If they can condone lies about something that many people witnessed, how on earth can we be expected to have any trust in them over more serious matters?
They tell us the absolute bare minimum and are forever covering up their mistakes, such as not filing accounts in time, or accruing CCJ's like they're going out of fashion.
In life, people are generally encouraged to own up to their mistakes. This board are 100% accountable to the membership but they treat the club almost like they own it and tell us nothing unless they absolutely have to and it's usually accompanied by a rallying call for us to get our hands in our pockets or offer services for free.
I have no objection to anyone supporting a good cause financially or with their skills as part of a larger team effort but it's all take and no give with this lot and it's gone too far for me
I don't want the club to cease existing but I also want no part of it as it's currently being ran.
I don't have the skills, time, importance or influence to affect any kind of change, so what are my options?
I can either continue handing over ~£100 per month for a match day experience that leaves me cold whilst being lied to and kept in the dark by a board that treat fans with contempt, or I can stop going to games and lose something that has been a part of my life for 25 years.
I don't like either of those options but I'm stuck with them.
Things need to change and IMO, they won't change whilst people continue to brush mess after mess under the carpet.
It might well be that I don't set foot into Holker Street for a Barrow game ever again because the longer you stay away, the harder it is to return but I can't bring myself to go right now.
I have never been so frustrated as a Barrow supporter. The only way I can ease the frustration is to cut myself off from it and try to not care anymore.
The way they have handled this Bayliss incident has been the final straw for me. I certainly won't be back whilst he is still the manager. I hope he goes sooner rather than later, or my abstinence could end up being permanent.

In the video Rushton's legs appear to be moving from under him before the defender gets the ball, this is what I saw from the other side on the day, it looks like contact with player first. Either way there is clearly only a fraction in it and in real time it's more difficult to tell, you only have to look at the Sturridge goal against Sunderland on MOTD2 to see how easy even the best ref's miss things.
I know it's been said that from behind the goal it looked a good tackle but seriously it did not look a good tackle. I think the real reason for it being given is that he has come at him from behind as well. Although the "tackle from behind" wording has been removed from the rules of the game to be replaced with a tackle endangering an opponent, it still stands that many injuries come from tackles from behind. It is still dangerous and that is what it was.
He was the wrong side of him to make that tackle, he needed to be in position to get across the front of him to slide in like that. Clearly no malicious intent, but he did swing at Rushton from behind to win the ball and wiped him out to get to it. The fact he lifted both feet off the ground going in won't have helped his cause. In fact the ref may very well have interpreted both feet off the ground as malicious intent. Getting the ball is not some kind of get out of jail free card. As with anything in a football game, you do something that endangers another player and you (should) get penalised.

Sound and vision on Cup highlights ok for me on both a PC and a Surface tablet.
Penalty decison seemed ok from my angle - the highlights clip suggests it was a great tackle. Let's hope the ref watches and rescinds the card.
Another decent performance and an enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine. Pleasantly surprised by the crowd increasing, even allowing for a group of visitors - we have had some disappointments at this stage of the FA Cup in the past.

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom
Some more thoughts from Saturday:
• Ramsbottom had no luck
• Their keeper was outstanding and could reach the far penalty box with a goal kick!
• Refs let more go at this level - I like it
• 2nd Pen – who’d be a Ref?
• Protest well executed and dignified
• Nice to see Ruins – what an ambassador for the club that lad is
• Hope Qatar isn’t going to be that hot
• Sun sets into the wind turbines now off Walney
• Er, that’s it

Having worked in Qatar, it is too hot, stupid place to host the world cup.
main thing from saturday is the win and prize money, it all helps, no matter how small.

Reg, Hope you don't mind me butting in here but IMO there's a third choice for you and the others with the same dilemma, Give a fortnightly donation to the BDF or the GM team (especially as the donation will be doubled up by a fan's superb offer) this way you have something solid to come back too while not supporting the Bod or DB directly.
Many are totally deflated by the whole sorry episode but we can support infrastructure while not supporting its (mis)management.

Ruins is well know for his ambassadorial role, especially at away games.
Bahamas bluebird will tell you all about the heat in Qatar, especially when it is humid. It will kill players if the World Cup is played in the summertime over there. Stupidity of the highest order.

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom
I just wondered if anyone noticed the new flag made and donated by Paul and his wife(sorry I don't know her name) which was flying from the flag post on Saturday? It is to replace the Premiership one we no longer have. It's a beauty and states BARROW AFC in bold letters. Have a look for it next home game----whenever that is!!!.
Many thanks for the time, effort and thought that went into that.
