I get the impression from the Mail article that BK knows nothing whatsoever about the comments that DB made on The Bay and Radio Cumbria or has he just been told the DB version of events? Does he actually know about what happened at the meeting and the subsequent comments Bayliss made or have the rest of the board not told him? It's not just DB that needs to stay away from the press its BK as well, especially when he doesn't have a clue about why a lot of fans are reacting as they are.
This could have been sorted before Saturday by DB going on the 2 radio stations saying he made a mistake about the comments, he's under pressure etc and apologise. On the radio he's apologised for his swearing outburst and now he needs to do the same with the 'complaint dropped as it was lies comments' he made which simply weren't true.
Sadly I can't see this happening now as I don't think Bayliss or the board will apologise for the comments and the club will continue suffering because of it.

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom
The comments by Mr Keen in the EM tonight prove exactly why he may have been the right man to pull us from the brink of extinction but he's certainly not the person to lead us into a successful future. IMHO, his clear lack of leadership and decisiveness make him culpable for almost all of the current mess. A top down change is needed, and needed quickly. Unfortunately that looks increasingly unlikely to happen, and even if a group did come forward with an alternative BOD proposal I seriously doubt it would be successful anyway. My confidence in the constitution of a club managed by membership was irreparably damaged that evening when we all saw at the Progress Group vote how easily it was for new members to be signed up and provide votes! The number of blue-rinses that evening was absolutely disproportionate to the regular Holker st crowd! Make of that what you will!!

Re: Barrow v Ramsbottom
I've often thought this, especially with the membership being so low & probably only a quarter of them attending any AGM's anyway. If someone was serious about taking over the club (for good or bad reasons) they surely would only have to shell out a couple of thousand (a small amount in the grand scheme of things) to swing any vote their way.Bluey VIII wrote:when we all saw at the Progress Group vote how easily it was for new members to be signed up and provide votes!
Or am I looking at that very naively?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Noticed that - good effort! Thanks to those involved.Holkerbird wrote:I just wondered if anyone noticed the new flag made and donated by Paul and his wife(sorry I don't know her name) which was flying from the flag post on Saturday? It is to replace the Premiership one we no longer have. It's a beauty and states BARROW AFC in bold letters. Have a look for it next home game----whenever that is!!!.
Many thanks for the time, effort and thought that went into that.

Regardless of the subject matter, the Chairmen’s comments in the Evening Mail were quite alarming as they totally lacked cohesion which is unlike him. “Risen it out of the dead...fracas of banners...stir up controversial opinions...” to name but a few.
I think maybe the time is right for the appointment of a bone fide spokesperson to represent the views of the Board. Communication has always been their Achilles Heel and that flakey statement didn’t help the situation at all in my opinion. On the plus side there was no profanity or threats of violence which was encouraging.

Perhaps John Mackay could fill this role? He is the 'fans liaison representative' after all?Wintergreen wrote:I think maybe the time is right for the appointment of a bone fide spokesperson to represent the views of the Board. Dont know how this will all get sorted out? Think "Bayliff" has to lead by example swallow some pride and come out and say hes genuinley sorry. This big i am hard man act does him or the club no favours and leads to deep divisions. If he cant say sorry properly then go. Agree Keen needs to stand aside.
